Hey guys, now that my loader is working the way it's supposed to... I'm interested in putting a larger bucket on my Max. I know there are some rollover concerns in regard to weight, but other than that is there any reason why this wouldn't be a good idea? I see no option for this from Mahindra...

Anyone out there have any experience with this kind of upgrade?

I have a Max 22 with the same loader I feel the bucket is undersized as well. One thing that I'm going to do is put a spill guard on the top edge of the bucket, this may in effect increase the size of the bucket. I saw what 4shorts did to his BX25D I hope to do something
similar, you can see his mods on youtube or on links inTBN.

Most of my oversized loads are going to be things like logs, fence posts, chunks of fence rolls which would still be overlong for a 60" FEL bucket anyway.

I found a set of palette forks for about $200. So I'm going that way. If I'm moving dirt I can probably use a truck, make more trips or possibly borrow a wagon.

That's my :2cents:.

Glad you liked my spill guard. I've added a spill guard to all my buckets. They are safer and they do add a little extra capacity which is good ;)

Wow, that spill guard looks fantastic. Did you make that cutting edge as well? Really nice work there.

The spill edge might work for what I'm looking to do. I have a Jotul 600f Firelight that I use to primarily heat my house. This stove takes up to 22in logs. I find when i try to pick up logs that are that long, I cant seem to get many to fall into the bucket as they're just too long. That spill edge would give me a few more inches bot-top that I think would help the logs to drop in vs just roll off.

Sure, a few inches wider would be nice as well.... like jel88 said i feel it's pretty small for the amount of weight it can handle.

Would still like to hear if anyone knows of a bigger bucket so i dont have to find someone to modify mine....

Thanks. Yes I added the cutting edge. It's intended for a larger machine but I narrowed it to fit the BX. It's keeps the bottom of the bucket from wearing out prematurely and adds strength to the buckets bottom.
I've tried the bucket for moving wood and didn't find it that great. Forks were a little better but just last week I added a grapple to the BX so I think this will work better for me.

I agree, it's def not optimal. That grapple is one sexy beast.... an option I'd not considered until now.

Wish you were a little more local.... my bucket would likely already be on its way to you :)
