Kubota L3540 HSTC a trade In Value

I posted this in the Kubota forum but only got one reply (which I appreciate ) but I'd like to get some more thoughts on it.

Ok... In Jan. I purchased a new L3540 cab with the LA724 loader and R4 tires (loaded in the rear). I had 3 rear remotes..... 2 with float and the 3rd fuction valve on the front installed at the time of purchase. I had the rear wiper and radio added and new front and rear 36w LED lights (very bright). The tractor has 37 hours on it.
I bought it thinking we might buy a bigger peice of property but plans have changed and we're gonna stay where we're at. So it's to big for out property now 1.5 acres. I'm thinking of trading it for either a kubota B3300 w/fel and backhoe or a Kioti CK35 w/fel and backhoe. Any idea how much I should expect to get for a trade in? Or how much I should be able to sell it for on CL? I'm located in upstate NY.

I love the L3540..... Just to heavy for the lawn and to big for the property.

Wow! nice tractor. I don't think you would have much trouble selling it. This is just a guess, but maybe $27,000?

I would think you could do an even swap for what you want. Perhaps find someone else who has what you want who wants to upgrade in size, but doesn't need a backhoe anymore. Maybe even make money on a Kioti.


Is the L3540 too big, or do you just worry that it might be too big. It's not exactly a huge machine.

For comparison, I paid 29 k CDN (+ tax) for my B3300 with backhoe and larger wheels in Sep 2013. I know what you mean about buying ahead of a property purchase - sometimes things change at the last minute. I would suspect you could get close to purchase price (less a couple thousand) for your unit. Sounds like a great setup.

Right now the only things I'd be using it for would be to lift logs off the ground after I have them delivered for fire wood and to do and lifting around that might come up. I was planning on buying more land and thought that size would be perfect. It rips up my lawn most of the time. If I had B3300 or CK35 then I'd use it for mowing and could it it into smaller area ect. Not saying the L3540 isn't good..... I love the tractor lol but just in this situation I think I'd get more use out if a smaller one.

The dealer wants $3500 + the L3540 for a B3300 with fel/bh. That's not a good deal IMO. Another dealer is going to contact me next week with what he can do. I'd really like the Kioti CK35 but I'm kinda thinking the L3540 is worth more and wonder how a dealer would deal like that? They never give you money back in a deal right? lol

I would seriously look at a B3350 as it has a lot of the deluxe features as the L3540. I really like the Kioti and they sure are great buys, but the added weight which is great in some situations "may" not be for yard work. My brother has a CK and often picks a lighter tractor for sensitive areas, for other things, it's great.

I would give this some serious thought. If you are wanting a "mowing tractor" the CK is probably not your best bet as they have some serious weight to them.. If you want a loader/backhoe tractor, they excel at that.

Have you thought about giving Steve Barlow a call and see what he could do on a trade?

You have paid good money for a nice cab tractor, I'd consider keeping it and buying a lawn mower, rather than paying more for less.

The tractor really shouldn't rip up your lawn unless making tight turns in 4wd, or the rear diff lock is stuck on.

Who knows you still might wind up with more property someday.
