I was thinking of getting a landscape rake for my 30HP Kubota B7800. First, what size would work best with that HP?

I looked at the Countyline at TSC and it looks like a decent piece of equipment. They are the only farm equipment supplier within 60 or 70 miles of where I live so I'm looking for suggestions on brands that you guys recommend before I make the trip.

I will only use it once or twice a year so I don't necessarily want an expensive unit.

Suggestions?

Usually one needs a rake that will cover your rear tire tracks. Probably a 6'er would work for you. TSC and other stores sell light to medium duty 6' County Line units new for about $500.
Check your local Craigslist for used ones for less.
I'm watching for a 7' rake if one comes up at a good price.

You want a Landscape Rake to cover your rear tire tracks WHEN USED ON AN ANGLE, moving dirt across the face of the rake to fill low spots. For a B7800 72" width is about right. It will extend about 6" wider than tire width on each side, WHEN PULLED STRAIGHT.

If you require a very smooth finish to your grading work you will want a pair of gauge wheels.

The two negative issues with light Landscape Rakes are 1) the tines bending, rather than springing back and 2) the tines swiveling under load, if attached at a single point.

I have an everthingattachments.com Landscape Rake and it is excellent.

I assumed he knew that covering his tracks meant the rake would be on an angle.
It looks like yours isn't covering your left track. That's why I'm looking for a 7' rake.

I have a 7' EA super HD do it all rake. My rear track is 68". I can rotate the rake to all positions (holes) except the last one and still cover the tractor's width. I do not see any reason to use the last adjustment hole.

A 6 foot rake would cover your tracks, you probably have enough power for a 7' rake. Keep looking at Craig's List-a couple of months and I am sure you will find a quality unit. I had a cheap one, hated it, sold it and bought a Woods.

I just picked up a 60" with wheels at EA it covers my tracks angled, works incredibly well, & is one of the best built implements I own, worth every penny.

I don't think the county line rakes are that hot but I have heard they have different manufacturers on the east and west coast.

One of these in a 6' would be nice for your tractor.
