in between now
I discovered to my great dismay a gosh awful smell coming out of the a/c system on my Kubota.
It's getting less strong so I assume I have a carcass left somewhere, but where to look?

Could someone suggest the first places to look for a mouse in the a/c system?

I think I have some spray orange stuff I can give a shot to the cab, but I'd also like to prevent another visitor.
Thanks very much.

More than likely in the ducts or at evaporator as this is where fan blows air over to be cooled good luck on preventing this try and eliminate problem such as a cat it could be a tree rat aka squirrel the damage they do could be bad as they love to chew insulation off wires

OR as my city friend's wife calls them - "tiny tree squirrels" - chipmunks. Whatever....... a cat or several cats is the way to go. Up until the coyotes wiped me out, last year, I always had 2-3 outside cats. Prevention is the answer. They totally chewed the wiring out of a brand new car I bought - -

Cats are definitely the answer - you don't have to rebait and reset a cat when it catches a mouse, squirrel, chipmunk or even a pocket gopher!!

If this was my tractor, my wife would make me get another one.

Hey, wait... I just came up with an idea!

Rocky, I bought a small horse farm on Terrapin Track. No horses for me but I'm planning on a dog. Cat? I don't know.
maybe one that lived outside but is that mean to anything other than a feral cat? I suppose it could live in the barn...

speaking of which, I have about ten bales of really old hay in that barn. I doubt it's much good to eat...what to do with it?
it's all falling apart...not much good for halloween activities; I'm surprised the critters haven't just taken it away; the barn is open to the rear. Those birds around here must be sleeping on Serta Supremes...

and the evaporator is where? roof? ? thanks

speaking of which, went to Lowes and got some bird feeders and birdseed. Soon to see who my new visitors are.

Don't have an A/C on my unit (no cab) but suggest that openings be "screened" using copper mesh. I use it to keep the critters out of the barn and house by plugging openings they might use with the mesh. Guess they don't like chewing on that stuff. Seems to work and yet allow air circulation rather than cut it off. Got my supply at Amazon.

I use gutter guard mesh at air intake and you can wrap wires also by cutting narrow strips to wrapl

I had to do the same thing when I owned my plane....fricken birds would get in there and nest....even in an enclosed hanger.

Cats are the best....just look at the free kitty adds in craigslist....but just know the coyote are going to eat them....That is what I did, but I just got tired of having to go get cats and finding kitty body parts around my barns.
