-2 degrees this morning high in 20s later today. House heat is struggling on 65 in here so a little chilly this morning. Right rear tire on tractor low so that is order of the day

-4 out right now, the wind, when it hits me, like needles in seconds. Suppose to warm up to 20 today. Sunshine.

Even with the house closed down to just the wood stove area, the heat pump kicked in overnight.

That was a first.

Stay warm, remember those outdoor animals. We sheltered everyone we could and rolled a space heater into the barn last night for the cats. This AM, all four were sitting by it. LOL.

-2F headed to 21 and sunny. Wind is not too bad right now, so got a couple of things done outside. Snow is very crunchy and hard to walk through. Fox tracks everywhere.

Birds devouring seeds, mealworms, suet, and peanut butter/lard/corn meal mix.

Coffee just finished brewing. 58° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 82° with partly cloudy skies. Off to show our friends a little of the Mesa area.
Got a couple of early morning phone call from my home monitor. Temperature in house had dropped below 45°. Checked local temperature. -24.7°.

Unbelievable. Called monitor. It reported that temperature had recovered. Back to sleep. Another call from monitor. But then cleared itself. Furnace is operating at 50°. My son dropped by house to check things out. He moved monitor away from outside wall.
While its not nice to brag about our temperatures here in AZ.

I sure am glad I am not up there is those temperatures.

Those in the cold temperatures be warm and safe.

-11.4F and clear to partly sunny and dead calm @ 07:30 ...

Slept until around 03:30 when the fan shut off on the WBF ... both it and the fireplace insert were down to mostly just coals ... reloaded both and got the WBF hummin' and went back to sleep - with Mister Kit-tay - until around 05:00 when The 'Cake came down with coffee.

The insert never really got cookin' so she worked on that and the WBF needed stoked, poked, and reloaded which I handled ... really got it crankin' this time around.

Temp upstairs had fallen to 57F ... had it back up to 59F in about an hour or so.

Got both Sprinters started ... which kinda surprised me, considering that the battery in mine is a little weak. But I've been running it daily to keep it topped off so there ya go.

TSC had a log grate on closeout for $27 - which the fireplace insert could stand to have ... might grab that when I go back over to swap a hose later.

Be interesting to see how chilly the shop is this morning ... was 29F yesterday morning and it hadn't had a fire lit in it for better than 24 hours at that point.
