New Max 26xl

I have been reading and searching this site for a few years now, finally decided to register. I looked at the Max series a couple years ago and almost bought one then. I ended up buying a used MF 65 with loader which has been a good tractor, but I really needed smaller tractor with a backhoe. A few weeks ago I went back to my tractor research then last week I visited the dealership. They had a 26xl on the lot but the backhoe they would have to order. After working out an agreeable price I had them order me a tractor. I got a new 26xl hst w/backhoe and thumb delivered yesterday morning. Only problem right now is that it has been snowing ever since and I only got to play with it for about 20 min. before I had to go to work yesterday!! (I did get the tires muddy though)

Awesome! I keep wanting to have a backhoe for mine, but don't really have much use for it right now.

Snow on the ground and freezing temps. but had to go out and snap a couple pics. I also got a couple of it next to the MF 65 to compare size.

Like the quick attach!!! Did you ask for the addition or included factory?

I believe it is included. I did not pay extra for it. The 26xl the dealer had on the lot had it. And when he ordered the backhoe they went ahead and ordered a complete tractor with the backhoe installed at the factory there in Houston.

Just noticed you have a max 26. How are you liking it so far? Did yours have the quick attach bucket?

I love it! I have around 30 hours now and can't wait for the ground to thaw as I have a lot of projects to do in the spring. I do not have the quick attach bucket, wish i did. I will have to talk to my dealer about the possibility. I have a set of pallet forks that are pin on. Not a huge deal but it still takes me a few minutes.

Another consideration is that I use this tractor to lift my dock sections at my summer cottage. They are pretty heavy and I take the bucket off for max lift capacity. I wonder how much the quick attach effects that?

A QA plate does reduce lift capacity, but by a fairly minor amount (still, if you're counting lbs near a margin, it's a factor). The weight is one issue, and the added lever arm is another. Again, both minor, but they will have an impact if you're on the ragged edge of capacity.
