After reading all the reviews on this forum, I bought my rake today. I do think it will fit the jobs planned. Thanks to all for sharing info!

Enjoy, it's an inexpensive tool that has multiple functions.

I use mine to grade my mile long gravel drive, smooth till the garden, clear brush, push through the forest, and break ice on the road following a winter storm. Really useful tool that stays on the FEL except when I need to dig or something.

The one question I have is....How do the twisted wire cables hold up? Do you do anything special to protect them? BTW... I bought my RR through Tractor Supply just for the curious.

Haven't had any problems with mine and nothing special to protect them. You can buy replacement parts from the RR website if anything breaks.

I took an old section of garden hose, sliced it open down the entire length, and used it to cover the cables. I covered the entire exposed cable although the only part that I really wanted to protect was the portion that bends around the bottom corners of the bucket.

I think I'm the only one that had a cable break. I was back dragging it and accidentally caught a stump. No damage at all to the rake. I have since upgraded to the forest service connections, but then I got my grapple and have not used it.

Great idea. Plan to do something similar.

I have used and abused my RR for several years and while the cables have a permanent kink in them, they are still just fine. I'm about to buy replacement ratchet straps from getting a wee bit too close to my burn pile. They still work, but look a little melted on the edges.
