72 out this AM, Cloudy and wet for the next few before the really bad humidity sets in.

All these talks of boats and shrimping, reminds me of boats and oysters in Long Island and family members long since gone on the Chesapeake. Working boats, livelihoods hard men. I love the water, boats not so much. Guess they were always working platforms for me.

69 headed to 90. Got a nice .36" rain last night with only a 20% chance forecasted, so we're happy.

Took Coco for a hike in Shenandoah NP early yesterday...nice 5 mile trail with waterfalls and pools. Saw the most unusual bird - looked like a goose body and a peacock head. Certainly not native, probably wandered from a nearby homestead...was nearly tame.

RNG, sounds like a lousy application of the legal system, but glad for you that's it's over.

Poured second cup of coffee. 65ー with fog this morning. Heading to 79ー with chance of rain and thunderstorms. Mower did not get on tractor yesterday. Cleaning up the barn took longer than expected. Will finish cleaning today. Then put mower on tractor.
Drew, like the boat. Would make a great Great Lakes Fishing boat.
Good Morning All.

70F and a pretty steady rain @ 07:45 ... headed up to a high of 81F with thunderstorms. Supposed to clear up tomorrow.

Managed to sneak in a little more work on the firewood yesterday afternoon ... the only thing left now to cut into rounds out of this last load are the 3 huge logs (on left, in background of image below) and some small limbs (on left, just beyond the pile of rounds)

From a couple days ago:

Probably will just tarp the top of the pile and let it sit for a few months. Hopefully, the hot summer weather will allow them to dry a good bit before I try splitting 'em. Will certainly have to noodle the larger rounds, probably into quarters, to be able to lift them with the log lift onto the splitter.

Next item on the firewood agenda after that will be to collect up all the aspen/poplar that has been dropped and get it bucked into rounds. That's probably 15 to 20 small to medium sized trees. There probably another dozen (or more) larger ones that can be taken down as well.

Think I might go ahead and clean up the hydraulic cylinder for the log splitter and paint it, since I already have it apart anyways, to replace the o-rings.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive day.

78 this morning and headed to 88 today. 80% chance of rain today. So looks like an inside day although it will be a short one. Today I've been married for 10 years. Na it ain't been that long. Counting. Um yea it has. So will take off early today and take wife to a movie then to dinner. Going to try to get to town for a haircut. This mop needs to leave but the barber is on Main Street and she is also in town today. May park around back.

Everyone stay cool. Except for Eric and Roy I think y'all need to warm up a bit. 50's in June brrrrr. Shivers.
