I have a 5035 Mahindra. The swing arms that control the side to side motion of the implements on my tractor are set to the shortest length where the slotted hole is and the arms still rub the tires when the implements swing side to side. Will it bend the arms if I put it in a hole to lock it in place with no movement? My other tractors always have had the chains, this is the first time I have had the stiff arms with holes. I have the backhoe frame bracket on the inside of the arms and I am also afraid the swing arms will swing into them and bend the arms. I don't have much motion room with the backhoe bracket and the tires! Thanks.

I lock the stabilizer on my little Massey and think it is less likely that I will bend anything because the swing multplies the hit at the end. Ed

Could you please post a picture... ??? I have the same model tractor and have never had this problem. The stabilizer arms should be in the outboard slots, with the lift arms in the inward position on each side. Making the stabilizer shorter actually pulls the lift arm closer to the tire, and lengthening it holds the lift arm farther from the tire. So, backwards to what you are saying... [ or what I think you mean..... ] ????? Here's a picture .... [ You non-Mahindra owners... please do not drool on your screen ]

I had the same problem with my Mahindra 2615HST but it had turnbuckles not the solid arms with the holes. I moved the adjusting turnbuckles to the inside of the lift arms. I also used a bungee cord to pull the arms together so they wouldn't swing out and catch the tires. Not sure if you can do that with yours.

like issue has came up 3 different times in last couple weeks. going to ask for a few pictures of the 3pt hitch..

with something hooked and without something hooked up.
see if you can get 1 or 2 good pictures showing a single lower lift arms from point they attach to tractor to end that attaches to implement.
see if you can show how much swing each arm has with something hooked up and not something hooked up.
see if you can get a picture of rear end showing various location of bolt location or hookup points for chains, bars, lower lift arms, top link connections, check chains, stabilizer bars/chains, etc..

more of show and tell. and double checking things are correct.

you are up there in HP wise for tractor were a CAT 2 (category 2) 3pt hitch setups can come into play, and different holes / locations might be on rear end of tractor, for setup of cat 2 or cat 1 setups.

More I think about it, is that when you took your backhoe off... You put the right lift arm/stab on the left, and the left lift setup on the right... [ Sorry.... chit happens. I put one of my mower blades on upside down once... :) ]

Your implement should not swing side to side. That is why the pins are there to lock the arms in place so they don't swing. You will not bend them. I have a 5035 with backhoe brackets and have no problem as you indicate.

I have the arms in the correct position. I could lengthen them I suppose, I just thought this style were suppose to catch on the opposite side of the swing so they are pulling and not compressing. I thought I had read where if they are compressing they would buckle? I know on the turnbuckle style if it swings left the right side catches it. I just did not want to buckle the swing arms. The leveling crank goes on the right side as you are looking at the tractor from behind, right? That is the way they have been on all the tractors I have had.

Absolutely correct. That linkage is called stabilizers or sway limiters for a reason. Pin them up tight.

Yup, crank on right side. I was just worried that you had put the lift arms in the outer pins and the stay arms on the inside by the trans. Would be easy to do... :)

PS: you can widen your rear tires, too. They come from the factory with them narrowed up.
