Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. Yesterday we had a good breeze to dry up the ground, then the showers came and we finished the day about as wet and sticky as it started. In the night the rain started again. I'm resigned now to just enjoying the sound it makes rattling on the roof, instead of thinking about all the things I won't be doing today.

the woodstove has been burning constantly for a week. the wood pile has shrank indeed! I need to let it go out long enough to remove some of the ash (there is not much really). it is warm enough inside I've opened windows in kitchen and living room to get a slight breeze through the main part of the house.

I have heard some say the best time to clean out a woodstove is while it is still hot, then the heat pulls any disturbed fine ash away up the chimney flue, instead of it spreading out into the room. When I can find a metal bucket I will give this a try.

42 and foggy drizzle, going to 53 fog and rain by tonight - 1 to 2 inches.

Soggy outside so just a hike again today outside, and more inside paperwork/start on taxes. I think my college b-ball team plays today, so I'll watch that game.

warm 49 out going to 61 on a damp day but rain not due in until tonight.
Off to do foodshopping early, then back to move some sand and stone. I gave myself off yesterday (I listened Farmer...), read a new book, and studied travel trailers.
Eric, I once owned a Caravan. And it went distances, to every soccer field in three townships. In a prior marriage I had three small kids, not mine of course, but that minivan really did the job, and we got one when Chrysler actually made them awd for a few years. I put snow tires on that awd Caravan and we went places few others could go. Not so many 4wd trucks back then so a van going in six inches of snow was pretty remarkable.

Today we don't seem to drive in snow anymore. We stay home and listen to weather forecasters predict the snowstorm of the century, monthly...

30F scatter snow showers left over night dusting, mid 30's for high cloudy.
Rain arriving early Sunday morn threw out the day in 40's,guess I'd better do all outside puttering today.

Enjoy the day all.

Good Morning. 41 headed to 45 with a 30% chance of rain. Supposed to hit 50 tomorrow so most of the snow should be gone. Going to take advantage of the warm weather to take down the exterior Christmas lights on the rain gutters. Back to highs in the low 20's and 30's next week. Gloom and doom reports from the weather folks that some lake effect is in the future next week. I say bring it on. I have a new blower to test out! Enjoy the day everyone.

34 right now...heading up to 36 today.
Got to hit the barber shop today and then pick up a high beam bulb for my F-150.
I'm also going to pick up a few LED light bulbs on sale at the local ACE Hardware. We use the CFL bulbs, but I haven't seen LED bulbs in action yet. The equivalent wattage is 40 and 60 (don't know the lumens)...hope they're worth the money.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 44° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 56° with mostly sunny skies. Wife wants to go to local swap meet. Should be a good day for that.
Good Morning All.

48 this morning and headed to 53 today. Rain on the way maybe by lunch.

Trying to decide if it's worth the run to the Feedmill for some cow feed. Or if I'll just wait till Monday. Hate trying to unload and beat the rain. Then it's off to dads to help him install a couple of garage door openers.

Probably something that fought back that was a little too big to eat.

Internet is back up. We raised the antenna another 10' and hit another tower that is 4 miles closer, it's zipping now. I also added three more 12' poles to attach the the guy wires to so I don't have to worry about running into wires.

46F and going to get windy and cooler tonight. Wifey made me some coffee with her new apparatus. She has a small stainless kettle to warm the water on the stove and then slowly pours it herself into a drip filter over a carafe...Not sure what the draw is, but it tastes good. Not sure how long she'll have the patience to continue doing it this way....

Don, Our internet tower makes our home look like a command station. They had to raise the telescoping tower to 45' IIRC. Did you go with the "Z" company or the "LW" company? I know the "LW" company is at full capacity and now has trouble at peak periods keeping everyone's speed where it is supposed to be.

Did you get your new cart from the Austin dealer? How many batteries does it have? We have a project at work where they bought some specialized batteries, car sized, lithium based, that cost $1100 each. They are light weight and I'd bet they'd make decent cart batteries but, Yeeouch!

The rebuilt engine in the car has been running great. I am getting a P0420(poor catalytic performance) code that pops up after a 100 miles of driving. It could be any of a number of things besides the catalytic converter, but it is on it's 2nd aftermarket converter. The cheap aftermarket model the local muffler shop puts on costs me about $175 installed, but they don't last but maybe 30 -50K miles. A new one from GM is over $1200 freaking dollars. Discounted to $804 online is still TDM....

Gotta go to the store, we are out of milk. Kiddo wants cereal.

Neat projects at work continue. About to start making a device that utilizes plasma that can maybe be used on Mars to ultimately make methane rocket fuel with available supplies.

Also a device to use plasma to help reduce dust in the intakes of jet engines.

I love science and technology.

Eric, just like everyone abroad thinks all Texans are gun toting, big hat wearing types, I think of England having a chimney sweep on every block. :)

Chiefs at Texans today. Wild card weekend. For some reason, every visiting team is picked by the oddsmakers to win.

wngsprd, I'm glad our taxes are simple. My wifey does them with one of the software programs.

Weather guy was reminiscing about last year's snowfall amounts up in the northeast. Up to 10' worth average snowfall in many places and some of the snow piles didn't finish melting until July...wow!

Some real Arctic cold air about to hit the upper midwest. We should all go help Sodamo and his wifey mow his place. How many guests can you hold David? :)

Me no likey minivans. I have to do a bit of work on our Chevy Venture (almost rather do taxes) and then put it up for sale since my old car is running again. I just don't care for driving it, it is hard to say exactly why, but the sum of the driving pleasure experience is just not there for me. Prefer a truck or nice car.
