Should I keep or sell my R1's?

I always start my eBay bids low at .19¢ to get things going. Whatever it sells for, I simply accept and realize that I don't have to look at it anymore or trip over it. Surprisingly, When I list my items that low, most sell for alot more than I would have expected even if I set a higher starting price.

Another vote to sell them.
Tires AGE just sitting in the air.
The rims should be worth a bit. Research ebay for closed listings for prices.

...so California, what would your reason be for keeping them?
An inherited hoarding instinct, I guess. :D Too many times getting rid of something that 5 years later I have to buy all over again.

15 years now and I'm still discovering why Dad had all that junk in the barn here, a lot of it was unique ancient stuff to replace like for like on this 1920's farmhouse. But I had to start out here hauling trailerloads of stuff (photo) away just to make the shop space I need. I still find myself looking for something I need that I then recall I discarded.

Up in the barn loft I have two Yanmar front wheels I paid $50 for at a VN import house when I bought my tiller there. I've never installed them but the existing front wheels on the YM240 have had a hard life. (photo). I can't imagine what prior owners did to need all that welding. And one of the welded wheels has '$25' written on it, it's a replacement! I'm sure the $50 I paid for these wheels is cheaper than today's prices. I'll use them eventually.

i think someething like $350-500 is going to be where they would fall. I could be totally wrong though but i think they would sit for awhile even at that price here where there is lots of yanmars. most folks have rims that work so they are not interested in the rims. And like carey said you can buy used tires for that price and i can buy brand new tires for like $150 i think.

i cant imagine what they did to that thing or carried to have torn the centers out of those wheels like that! Shows how strong those HD fronts and spindles really are i guess

You have a great and smooth-riding turf-tire package from Hoye. Relax and enjoy them not tearing-up your yard. I vote to get rid of that AG set. In the past, I too have purchased items and never used them and have also replaced items while keeping the still-usable items only to have them sit around forever. The older I get, the more I find myself willing to part with my possessions, that in my younger years, I would have wanted to keep.

Me neither. A couple of times when I was learning to operate the YM240 I backed up fast and let the steering wheel get yanked over to full lock when I intended a minor turn. I can't think of any other action that could stress the wheels like obviously happened to these. And I haven't caused additional damage to those wheels in 13 years.

This YM240 has the optional HD adjustable width front axle shown in Optional Parts sections of the Owners and Parts manuals. Probably the axle is native to a larger Yanmar, and probably sold by the dealer as 'loader ready'. The original owner should have also bought the strengthening discs that go on the outside of the wheels, to spread stress that is concentrated at the lug nuts.
