TYM T500
Clearing fence row and decided enough is enough. TYM t500 was already at dealer getting rear remote installed to run seeder and bailer. I called him and asked if he had any grapples. He recommended dirt works grapple (and suggested staying away from china made stuff though I'm not sure whats made in china). I've not seen dirt works mentioned here. Anyone heard of them?

Before he mentioned dirt works I was debating the titan 48"LW for it's low price and EA single lid 54" WRG since the 50" is not rated for my 50HP compact tractor.

The dirt works has a grapple add on for the bucket not sure if that's what he's gonna recommend $600. While it will improve the bucket and possibly low price depending on install cost. I fear that would not be as beneficial as the open rake grapple design. Then they have a grapple with open bucket design not rake for about $1600 the bucket has 1/4 steel and I'm thinking the rake design would be more beneficial and stronger. Or am I wrong?

Thanks in advance for input. I like supporting my local guy as it keeps him in business and willing to come pick up my stuff.

That was the only info I could find on dirt works. He said it was double grapple and 60" So I'm not sure which one he was talking about. Then we got into cost of fitting it etc and the price was jumping up. Back to my original 2 choices.

For $600 this is the only dirt works I could find.
Grapple Buckets - Serrated Grapple Tooth Assembly | Add to Your Own Skid Steer Bobcat Tractor Bucket | Quality Welding Service

It's best to have open sides on a grapple for long logs which a bucket with grapple attachment does not have.

The $1,600 solid base open end ones will grab too much soil. Digging out roots will be very hard.

With his suggestions I would say he has limited knowledge on USING grapples. You will get better info looking at the TBN Grapple threads with the "search".
