Yes, not used to the side safety yet. Wasn't thinking about that when I bought it. Probably would have gone without one if I was paying attention. No big deal. I guess I am glad it's stiff so it doesn't accidentally get switched on/off.

I just got a MP 9mm Shield performance center edition few weeks ago. It shoots great and I really like the way it fits in my hand.

I do NOT use the "side" safety, there's no need to, FOR ME. I just carry it and let the trigger safety do it's thing.

Well maybe I shouldn't learn to use one with this model... that way I will be consistent with both MP's I have which otherwise have pretty identical operation. Just was a thinking I should be familiar with all of its functions. I guess I am familiar enough to know to check it if I need to... (if accidentally bumped on) and not just use it because it's there?

Is the trigger pull about the same as the Body guard?

I don't have the Bodyguard to compare but the trigger pull 'feels' pretty much the same as my MP9 (full size). Unfortunately I don't have a fish scale to measure. Best I can tell looking at specs on the Internet, should be 6.5lb.

I don't know what it is myself but I know I don't care for it IMO. Seems most DOA takes more LBs than my DA/SA.
