There to much political correctness in this country today as far as energy goes because green is not the answer.

It really does seem this way on many fronts...

Rates are again going up... and the new legislation from Sacramento means they will continue to increase with climate requirements.

Yeah don't you know by now that any problem, no matter what it is can be solved by charging more and levying more taxes. Heck you can even change the global climate, change the orbits of the planets and phases of the moon with a new tax. Or so they keep telling us anyway. Personally I don't believe it. I think they just want more of my money to buy votes from a bunch of ignorant dummies.

Politically correct maybe but ignorant from engineering and cost standpoints. There is a technology that would do both but it would step on too many politically protected toes to put it into place so it ain't happening anytime soon. The thing about the solar and wind BS is that those are no real threat and never can be to those politically protected pockets and the fossil fuel industry and economy. The dumb greenies just don't know any better so will tout anything they're told. People in this country used to be smarter than this. Past generations put men on the moon with slide rules while this bunch of nitwits can't make it across town without a GPS or make it through the day without 6000 likes from Facebook.

Ethanol is nothing but another gubberment boondoggle. It doesn't save even one drop of oil and by the time it's all said and done it takes even more oil than it saves. You first have to grow the crops with fuel and fertilizer, then do all the processing to get the ethanol and all that takes oil to do. It's like electric cars. They only make sense if you don't look beyond the wall socket otherwise they are environmental disasters compared to gasoline or diesel powered vehicles. And expensive disasters at that. Of course if you happen to believe in perpetual motion, anything is possible.

In the end, gallon for gallon Ethanol puts out 2/3 the BTU of gasoline and costs more money and more oil to produce. It's just a way to piss away unneeded subsidized corn and buy votes and I haven't even talked about the water and pesticide issues involved.

Do you have any idea what you are writing about? Corn has gone from $7/bushel in 2013 to about $3.50/bushel source. Wholesale beef values have been around 30 to 40 cents PER POUND for the entire period. What has changed the most is the price spread between the wholesale and the retail, from about $2 to almost $3/pound. source here
