I am looking into put a 3 pt hitch backhoe with pto hydraulic pump on a Kubota L2501 but my dealer said i need a subframe is there anyway around putting a subframe on cause once i am finished 1 part i want to hook up box scrape to level up the ground. What type of backhoe could i used so i don't tear up anything and still be able to unhook quickly and get back to scraping the ground thanks

A subframe is by far the better of the two. The make 3point backhoes or at least they used to. I can unhook my backhoe and re hook it in under 10 minutes. When I timed it it was closer to 7 minutes. That was without hooking and unhooking the 3 point arms. Add in another 10 minutes to do that and the time still isn't that bad.

Woodmax makes 3 different sizes of 3 pt hitch backhoes so i know they still make them

Better off getting a subframe mount, an the bh 77 hoe that goes with it.

I would think the subframe would be easier to take on and off than the 3 point. I can drop mine in 2 to 3 min and install in about 10 -15 min. The 3 points normally have extra bracing and pump hookup to to deal with.

My opinion is sub frame or nothing!! I searched a lot before I bought my backhoe and saw plenty of broken tractors. Had the privilege of seeing a JD 790 broken in half at the bell housing with a Woods BH 7500 mounted on 3pt. You have the same frame tractor as mine (L3700SU) and dad's L3800HST) we both have the sub frames and one BH77. I agree with the others 10 minutes flat you can change from hoe to lift arms.

As the others say, having the subframe type backhoe does not prevent you from dropping the backhoe and putting a 3 point implement on the tractor; it is a pretty straightforward changeover that doesn't take a lot of time or work. I regularly switch between backhoe and box blade for dirt work on my tractor.

The thing is, the 3 point mounts are intended for implements that are pulled and are designed to raise and lower. You don't want to do any of those things with a backhoe... you want it mounted as securely as possible to the tractor and you want to keep the extreme forces from the backhoe from bending or breaking the tractor. So trying to use the 3 point linkages to hold a backhoe is basically a patch job. A 3 point backhoe is fine for light duty work, but it's far from a perfect (or even good), way to mount a backhoe. Kubota stopped offering a 3 point type backhoe for that reason.

Your dealer is right, but you needn't worry about not being able to use other attachments just because of the subframe.

I heard that it takes a long time to hook up and i want to be able to change from backhoe to landscape rake to box blade rather quickly to clean up my land where i want to build a home on

Why the expense and complication of a pto pump instead of the tractor's hydraulics ? Your Kubota pumps an entirely respectable 5gpm which is lots for a backhoe in that class.
In case of doubt purchase a hoe a couple of sizes larger than what you think is required . The added power to dig through clay, pry out rocks and the ability to drag a stuck tractor clear of mud makes bigger better.
