Hi all,

I am buying a 3025E new from my JD dealer. I asked about putting two sets of rear remotes on the tractor, and he quoted me $1,200 PER SET. Of that, apparently over $1,000 is JD's charge for the hardware kit (the labor to install is just two hours at $80/hr).

My dealer said if I found a 3rd-Party/Aftermarket rear remote kit (hoses, fittings, valve) their techs could install it at the same $80/hr rate.

So does anyone know of 3rd party kits like that? I really want two rear remotes so I have the ability for a top & tilt at some point, but paying an extra $2,400 for them right now isn't really in the cards... wife might kill me.

I don't know this for sure, but I think that this 3000e series kit will fit and it is very reasonably. After all, the 3025e should be the same tractor other than detuned engine.

Yep, the 3025E is the exact same tractor as the 3032E save for the engine (and exactly what about the engine is different than the 3032E's is a matter of some mystery to me... and if the the sales rep at my dealer knows, he's not telling: I asked that question specifically, and he said he didn't know.) The 3025E engine block is the Yanmar 3TNV88F, whereas the 3032E's block is the Yanmar 3TNV88... no idea what that extra "F" at the end of the 3025E's block model means, if anything. But looking at the two different engines' specs on the Yanmar website, they sure do look pretty identical to me, other than the rated output. If anybody here knows what the differences are between the engines, I'd sure love to know.

Anyway, thanks Brian for the link to that rear remote kit! I wonder, does that kit include 2 remotes (i.e., 4 connections), or just one? I couldn't tell from the listing and called Green Dealer and nobody answered. :p

If it has 2 full sets, that would be great as it would be roughly half the cost of the remote kits from the dealer... and would make my FitRite order for a top & tilt happen much sooner.

It should be the 2 valves, everything to have 2 operating sets of rear remotes. I think that even 1 of the valves has the float feature.

Do they have a turbo and then is the boost the same or does one have turbo and the other does not or could there be a difference in the injectors?

Now I'm really diving down the rabbit hole. :D

Instead of paying ~$800 for the above kit from Green Dealer, now I'm thinking about doing a full custom install like user Piston did in this thread:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...mote.html?highlight=spool+power+beyond+kubota

It seems by buying all the parts individually and doing the install myself I could add 4 spools plus a power beyond for a total of probably $600-$700 in parts, rather than 2 spools for >$800 with the kit above.

Anybody want to tell me why this is a terrible idea? :D :D :D

It's not a bad idea, but you aren't going to do it with quality parts for that cost.

No? I looked at Surplus Center at the Prince SV stack valves, with 4 DA cylinder open-center spools the valve came out to about $$430. All the hoses, fittings, etc. I didn't total up, but I figured they wouldn't add more than a couple hundred dollars... is that where I'm wrong? Or is the stuff from Surplus Center junk?

You need to make your own assessments. All I can say is that every single customer of mine that has decided to not use the more costly valves and went the economical route has had some sort of valve problem. EVERYONE

Are you getting the valve features that you want need for that cost, or just simple valves?

Don't get me wrong, lots of people go the less costly route and are happy. What I'm saying is you are not comparing apples to apples.

I go through this constantly. Good luck with your decisions.

Sorry, I'm very new at this, so I don't know a quality valve from a junk one. So the Prince SV stack valves are not good quality I take it?

What company(/ies) make better quality valves?

Many thanks for your help! I have a lot to learn about this stuff!
