I went today and paid for my tractor and will pick it up probably Thurs or Fri. I ended up gong with the 1715, FEL, and a 60" MMM. They didn't have a mower deck on hand and had to order it so I'm just going to take the tractor and loader for now. I'm probably just going to pick the deck up myself and install it to save the $200 they charge to prep/install the deck, it can't be that hard to set the deck up.

ETA. I paid $16400 OTD for the tractor, FEL , and MMM. I could've saved $600 by going tot he cheapest dealer but it would've been a 350 mile round trip drive and I just decided to spend the extra and keep my business local.

Since I started looking, Ive decided on the 1710 or 1720. Buy once, cry once I guess. I may never use the backhoe, but Im sure Itll be nice to have

Ive checked the spec sheets on MF website, and the specs on the 1710 and 1720 are identical other than rated HP and PTO hp. Even the hydraulic flow is the same

Dnmccoy, the gc1705 and 1710 have identical hydraulic flow levels and HP and torque. The GC1715 and 1720 have the same hydraulic flows and HP and torque. See page 6 of your linked brochure.

But the real point is . . . . They are all good product and as long as you are happy and your choice works for you. . . . that's what is important :)

The 1705/10 has 6.3gpm and the 1715/20 has 6.8 gpm. Not a significant difference, but there is a difference.

You can equalize the flow by increasing the RPM's or increasing the fuel flow a tiny bit and use the rated RPM as normal.

I hate to repeat myself again as I stated in post 33 but you need to look at your own link page 6. a Gc1705 and a GC1710 are identical except for tips, backhoe, seat (because backhoe seat has to Swivel), and the suframe to support backhoe. Both units have matching motors and hydro pumps (6.3).

A half gallon added flow is not the point. . . The specs are as your link states on page 6.

My two cents.... Even with the substantial price increase and after considering it for quite some time, I got the BH version, for three reasons:

1) Apparently the frame is beefed up to accept the BH, and a BH is not an easy add-on on the non-BH versions.
2) The BH version of mine, the 2310, has a foldable ROP, which makes it easier for me to park it in a low-roof situation. I needed that ability.
3) I wasn't sure about how much I'd use the BH, but wanted to have that option if needed.

As it turned out I've found a LOT of uses for the BH, and am very glad I got it; I also figure, should I ever want to sell it, that having the BH might improve its chances of being sold.
