TYM T293
Dead tractor sitting in the barn and have tried MULTIPLE things to get going. Just died all the sudden when trying to start after a few days off. Have absolutely no juice to the tractor (no lights, no glow plug, no noise whatsoever with ignition turning). Battery new this year and still runs LED light bar wired directly to it. Have also tried jumping with truck and batt charger to make sure not a batt issue. Then moved to wiring/fuses. The 50 amp in front by batt is fine. All dash/panel fuses good. I tried to replace the relay in the front but no difference. Have dug into dash and see several relays there as well (not willing to pull and replace them all). Finally go to dealer (forgot to check wiring diagram in manual) and they ask if I have checked the other 2 main fuses ( a 40 for "main power" and a 50 for "glow"). Get home to try and find those 2 and i'll be damned if they are ANY WHERE that would make sense or plain sight. I have tried to follow wire back from starter/alternator and from batt back as well and just can't find them anywhere. Dealer doesn't remember and doesn't have a 293 on lot right now to look. He did show me on a bigger model where they are, but no luck on my model. Hoping someone here may no where they are for this particular tractor? driving me crazy!!! snow will be here soon. next option is to drag it onto trailer and haul over to them I suppose
Thanks

Forgot......new to forum. Live on acreage in IA. Have had tractor for 4 yrs now. Has been a dependable little work horse. Just got done moving 16 tons river rock for landscaping without trouble. have the snow blower for rear PTO and a finish mower I rarely use. Only other problem I have had was a bad fuel filter within first 20 hours or so that was replaced and no troubles since.

On a 273 they are under the dash and/or behind the lower panel. You may be able to raise the instrument panel and get the lower panel loose with out pulling the steering wheel to get to them.

I'm thinking they have to be in that steering wheel area/column, and I have the lower panel pulled back without removing ignition wiring but the top panel will need steering wheel pulled as I can't see down there good enough. Not sure it's worth that when the thing is due for service anyways. Just not wanting to drag the thing on to trailer as it's position in the barn won't be easy and the bucket AND 3 point arms are down.

Yes like CDR said they are in the wiring harness under the steering wheel. You don't need to remove the wheel to get to them. Just remove the screws and bend the plastic back a little. Mine would blow every few months until I fix the shorting wire problem under the frame. i never bought new fuses, just pulled the clear top off and jumped them with a ball of solder.

Relays good. I gave up and hauled to dealer. He added an "extra" ground and it starts now, but very very hard. 8(

Does this have the metal clamp type battery terminal with the plastic protector over it or the heavier duty lead terminal? I have seen a couple of the metal clamp type ones crack and then not offer as good of contact. That happened on one of my tractors and I changed to the old lead type and it worked better again after that. Also when its cold the hydro tractors will start better when you put the HST lever in neutral when starting the tractor. Once started you can put it back in high or low range.

If it rolls over good but not wanting to start good you may have a bad glow plug.

Thanks for reply. I switched out the neg terminal because it was all bent up and will probably do the pos as well. Dealer recommends hair dryer down air intake and/or block heater, and if works then new glow plug. Are they hard to change out?
