"............. Now what do I do with all the cheap razor knives I buy for $1 to get the tarp free?
Excellent question. I go to HF weekly and if nothing else make sure I bring home a freebie. Generally this is accomplished with purchase of a 59 cent paint brush or a roll of electrical tape. Any other good suggestions of cheap but useful items?

microfiber cloths when free... great for cleaning your glasses. I have bought a bunch of casters and have most of my benches, cabinets, and a large tools on wheels now.

Here is an easy mod to your plastic gas cans to increase the flow. Works especially well on the 'No Spill' gas cans that you have to use your thumb to hold the button down on the spout when pouring.

Amazon.com: 5 Yellow Fuel Gas Can Jug Vent Cap: Garden & Outdoor

I'm gettin' too old to lift & hold 5 gal cans so I found this.
6 ft. Siphon Pump-AT4.SP1.2A - The Home Depot

Works GREAT!
Fuel tractors, mowers, plow truck... just shake it & watch it fill whatever.

Also great for the laptop and iPad! Keep a few around for detailing the inside of the truck.

Have you guys seen the utube video about putting a tire stem as a vent ??

That's what I have in several of mine and they work great. The only thing I would do different would be to use the short stubby stems rather than the standard length. The short stems would be less likely to get caught on something.

Just be careful as some of the rubber compounds used to make valve stems will dissolve due to the ethanol over time. They are no longer rubber as it dry rots. Now they are made from synthetic compounds.

I didn't mean to diminish your post DE.. it was just another idea that folks might have laying around.. I know I have acouple of tire stems in the toolbox.. & thank you for the link..
One thing about the tire stems is> keeping up w/ the CAP!!! How many folks can say they have caps on ALL THEIR TIRES?? Lol
& the little yellow hinge breaks on the vent caps.. I know I have several 2 gal containers w/ the yellow vents that are missing the cap, due to the hinge breaking..
The spout on the new jug has a "small" red cap & I drilled a hole in IT & the nub on the container.. tied fishing line thru it & attached it to the nub where the spout ratchet USED TO BE..
A razor knife made short work of the plastic push ratchet band..

DE, if you couple those vents with these high flow spouts you can dump 5 gallons in about 30-40 seconds.
