I already have my forever truck, the '00 F250 SD, and my forever van. As in the mechanic is takin' f'n FOREVER to finish the engine swap!:pullinghair:

Time's a wastin', PJ. The weather's startin' to get nice and lots of riders and rider wannabes have got tax refund money burnin' a hole in their pocket!

Be careful. I sold my cycle and never got the green light to buy another.

Mazda has supposedly harnessed running a gasoline engine like a late model diesel. Using split second timing of high pressure fuel injection into a really high compression cylinder. It has the potential to CHANGE THE WORLD.

Mazda Says Its Next-Generation Gasoline Engine Will Run Cleaner Than an Electric Car

219 Mazda 3 with Skyactiv-X Compression-Ignition Gas Engine Prototype Drive | Review | Car and Driver

Kyle, would you enjoy driving one of those, or would the sound of an engine that inherently knocks drive you crazy ?

I suppose you soon get used to things behaving differently if you can see the benefits. I didn't like CVT transmissions at first, yet after a short while I happily accepted their slightly strange ways in return for the improved fuel economy and now quite enjoy the challenge of trying to drive them without the rev counter suddenly having a random hissy fit from a slightly heavy right foot.

Good afternoon. I was feeling lucky this morning and took a gamble on the rain having finished, even though the clouds were still half threatening, spending the last few hours pointing up the brickwork I'd cleaned out yesterday. If it will stay dry for a while longer I will have got away with it. Very pleasant to be up a scaffold tower and listening to the swallows chattering away while perched on the roof ridge.

When you win that lottery Drew, maybe you could stretch to buying Cajun a cycle too - or at least a green light.:)

Very bad pain started around 12:00 - 1:00 last night ... couldn't get to sleep ... took an OxyContin ... that didn't seem to do anything so about an hour or so later I took another one then around 4:00 I took an aspirin ... took another Oxy around 7:00 this morning ... not sure what set it off, but thankfully the pain seems to have subsided at this point. Hopefully it's not going to be a regular feature.

Irritation/soreness in my throat from being intubated seems to be about gone, as is the pain when I cough. Some minor pain when chewing. Lot less coughing now, seems much easier to breathe ... even in humid weather, which was always a problem previously.

Cardio Doc's visit went fine ... blood pressure now UP to an acceptable range, after reducing one med by 75% (10 mg of Lisinopril ---> 2.5 mg) ... said the incision looked good and appeared to be healing well. The nurse asked if I was game to be placed into a special program with the doctor, which may include a research study, which he just got a grant for. Might involve more frequent visits/increased monitoring ... don't have all the details as yet. Told her sure. Have appointment with the vascular surgeon this coming week.

Still having problems with pain in my lower back. Used to be I could bend over and my back would audibly pop and bring some relief. It won't do that anymore for some reason ... and I get sharp stabbing pains periodically. Probably should see what's up with that.

Got refrig/freezer moved over to the other wall in the fish room, will serv as the temporary home/stand for the central air pump. Now need to swap some valves around and hook up the airlines. Also got the Hamburg Matten Filter installed in the one 20G Long.

Coffee just somehow isn't the quite same without a smoke to go along with it ...

Thoughts and prayers for all.

Thank you Eric. Just make sure it's a cycle. A green light, while helpful is not quite a lottery qualified item.

No worries here. She grew up riding on the back of her dad's bike, and even had her own little Indian. We'll definitely be getting another one. She came very quickly to enjoy the ride on a Goldwing, so it'll be another one of those for sure.

Wifey enters my Tundra under duress. I have ~10 years of accumulated St. B. hair/drool/gobbers in the "crew cab;" The front is not much better :embarrassed:

David- I am happy to read that Sophie is independently mobile........ Awesome- from baby steps a couple of weeks ago to driving a big Tundra today.

Rswyan- I am sorry to read about all your pain, cardio challenges, and quitting cigarettes. A lot is on your plate. My wife was a +2 pack/day person who tried the patches, etc. and finally went "cold turkey." It was not a pretty picture during the withdrawal phase, but that was 20 years ago an she has not smoked a tobacco product since. Quitting cigarettes is one of the most challenging "chemicals" to try to discontinue- Good luck. And good luck with the diet/lifestyle changes. That's not easy either.

rs, I saw on the Austin news about people putting their plecos in the San Marcos river. They've hired a guy who snorkels with a Hawaiian gig and he brings up bunches of them there in San Marcos. They have actually installed a garden pond tub with a sign for people to "Put unwanted aquarium fish here" to combat the situation.
You guys need a "Big Rich" down there ...

He's about 30 - 45 minutes up the road from me.

My pleco is about 9.5 years old, and about 9" in length. He is starting to harass my angel fish, not sure why???
Mebbe too many fish in a confined area ?

Reduced temps (within reason) = slower metabolism = less aggression

My middle daughter named him Albert. Not sure why.
That's cute ...

On 2nd thought, I might take him to my old barber's tank that is so full of algae, you can't see into it...
He'd probably do a real number on the algae.
