3 PH side link cylinder sources...

Can anyone suggest online resources for wide varieties of hydraulic cylinders other than Surplus Center???

I'm wanting a new (bare bones) cylinder that I can add custom link ends to...

Looking for a 2.5" to 3" bore with a minimum of 4"stroke...retracted length should be 13" or less...

Want a welded cylinder for easy fabrication...I'm afraid tie rod cylinders use cast ends...I need to be able to MIG custom pin ends to the cylinder...

I have scoured the Surplus Center site and want to make sure there is not a better more ready applicable cylinder available...I do not want to buy "unused (old) inventory"...as it is not uncommon for rod end seals to dry out and start leaking after a very short time...

I do not want a generic pre-fabricated side link to start with...just too much $$

I'm not sure you will be able to find a double acting cylinder in the size range that you need with no ends. :no: Probably going to have to get a welded unit and cut off the ends. I recommend that you get a tube type welded unit and go from there. Maybe Bailey?

What tractor are you building this for? Are you going to build it to get single side tilt, or to tilt in both directions equally?

Yeah I don't mind cutting off whatever is on a cylinder...just have to work out the lengths...I'm replacing a leaking cylinder I made about about 8 years ago out of a surplus cylinder that I have no information on...

No thanks...I have a leaking top link I got from them and they want something like $5 for one thin o-ring and another $5 to mail it to me...also the dpcv messed up and started rattling...if it's hay season it would take a month to get a part...

I use a 4" stroke unit and with a small modification to the lower clevis, Then you have a unit that gets you an equal amount of tilt angle to each side.

Why would you use a 2 1/2" or 3" dia unit? 2" is more than enough for that tractor. I'm not sure that a 3" dia unit would even fit? :confused3:

What about Purpose Built Hydraulic Cylinder Specialists - Aggressive Hydraulics ?
I've never bought from them but look interesting, and I agree with mtnview, the side link I built for my B2620 was only a 1.5in bore with a 6in stroke (stroke was a little long buy used what I could find at the time).
2in would be the max I would use.

Thanks for the replies and advice...not sure why I was looking for such a large bore cyl...likely because that is what I had on hand that I could make work 8 years ago when I first fabbed a tilt cyl,
...It was a 4" stroke and I did set it half extended when I set the length to what the solid link was...gave me plenty of tilt in both directions...

I will expand my search now to include down to 2" bore cylinders...thanks again for the advice and the links to the sources.
