Tractor
Massey Ferguson 35 diesel 4 cylinders
This is my brother's tractor he had for very cheap price.
Rear tires are okay. Engine not stuck, transmission lever engage every speed fine.

Looks like a keeper to me, I've saw and saved a lot of oldies but this one is unknown to me ..
I think about Allis-Chalmer or Massey-Harris but i'm not really sure.
Someone knows something about it ?

So i can start buying carburator kit, seals, olis and stuff to make it alive again.
I am comfortable with mechanics (transmission, motor head, valves etc...) so this won't be a problem.

Here are some pictures I took from this old baby :

The colors make me think of Oliver. No idea if they had an offset cultivator tractor or not.

Did you try a google search of the numbers on the block?

Oliver Super 44 offset

Nore: front grill is different but that could due to production year.

Thanks guy, looks like this is it.

I've googled a bit on pictures and none of them has the same grill pattern, kinda strange. Maybe this is because of the production year as SSdoxie said.

By the way, what are the production years from this serie ?
I've saw some from 1959 so this is like early 60s.

Also, I've saw transmission speed configuration and they are different from that one too.
If i remember well, it's R/1/2/3.

Thanks for any help !

That is a Farmall Cub someone painted green. The grille looks to be home made. The two holes in the hood are for oiling the generator, in case any one is wondering what they are for.

The casting date on the touch control box 2-3-T comes out to February 3rd, 1950. The serial plate if it is still there is right above the steering box, if it's missing there will be 4 holes in a rectangle where it was.

Why would a person want to paint a classic red tractor Oliver colors? I mean has the red and green paint battle been going on that long?

Tractordata.com "may" have some info on the tractor for you. I think if you search you will find Cub clubs or support groups. There was one in my area few years back.

No idea why they painted green and it's from a long time ago cuz the paint is very old and flaky.

I already saw a Ferguson (not massey furgeson) that was painted in John Deer green and yellow. From far away you could swear it was a John Deer 40 alike.
People have some weird ideas sometimes ;)

Ok, problem solved, thanks to all for the help now I can begin giving love to this old baby and have the right parts for it.
Can't wait to hear it running :)

Ray.

Cheers Shaneard, this is very interesting.

One ore question ... (I know haha !! i am annoying but I'm still learning with the pros here ;) )

I've read in that Farmall forum that if you want to run an engine sitting for years, it's better to prime the oil pump, as it could be dry and could harm the engine
before oil pressure builds up. One guy posted a picture of the oil filter section (with oil filter removed) and I see a little hole and he said that injectiong oil in that tiny hole
would help to build up oil pressure for the initial engine running.

Kinda strange for me as i never heard such a thing... anyone had done this before cranking a engine sitting for years ?
