Pants with tough knees?

U can go to the "linen store" & buy big square iron-on patches..
Just iron them on the knee area.. & if "fashion" is a factor.. iron them on the inside..

Seems to be no answer for sure. I've bought the heavy weight Carhartt, sometimes double knee, use iron on patches (sew the edges) and even Gorilla tape, buy the cheaper stuff too. Mine still wear out all over before they are cut up for rags. Mine dry on a clothesline.

Really - if there is a serious, tough job - down on the ground. There is just little hope for most any type of pants. Sometime I wear my work pants to town. It looks like I lost the fight in the bull ring or went a round with a timber mulcher.

Hey - isn't the latest style - open knees, slices in the legs, frayed cuffs. I'm right there!!

I've never had much luck with iron on patches, they never seem to stay on after a couple washings.

I really should wear suspenders too, but guess I am just too vain.
I just don't want to look like the old guy..... that I AM!

I ought to as well, but they don't look very comfortable. Never used to have problems with my pants staying up.... :irked:

Knees are the failure point for all the pants that I wear at home, so I decided that it was time to try some dedicated work pants. This is what I've been wearing for a while now.

The knees show no signs of wear at all yet. I've caught the pants on things that I know would have torn a hole in other pants and they weren't even marked. I like all the pockets. The only downside for me is that I find them to be quite warm (and I've got the medium-weight style, not the heavyweight).

Yup, the Relaxed Fit Workhorse. All I wear. Double knee, phone pocket on the side, and very durable. Get them on sale online sometimes for $21 ish.

My Dad told me a very long time ago, to stay off of your knees. If I do, I use a Kneely Pad.

U also wear the duluth fire hose pants. They hold up pretty well. My wife keeps an eye out for the sales.
