Just putting this out there for comparison to used trailers / prices in other areas. I have no interest in this trailer.

Trailers are a crazy item right now. Used prices are out of this world. I actually haven’t seen many used trailers worth their asking price.
New trailers seem like they’re 20% more than 2-3 years ago.
My prices for my construction, farming and property maintenance services have to increase. I cannot keep up with rising costs of doing business.

Trailers have always been this way. I've purchased several Dump trailers and flatbed trailers use them to death and get pretty close to what I paid because the price kept rising on the new ones it brought up my used price.

The reason I keep buying new to replace old is that I know I can darn near get what I paid for them and still haul a new trailer.

I bought my Big Tex 24000lb gooseneck for $9900 in 2015. Sold it for $9000 in 2020. Never repaired it. I figure I hauled 2500 tons of hay with it in 5 years.
Best $900 bucks I ever spent! :laughing:

I always read of the reluctance by some, to spend money on a new trailer, that they would have minimal use for.
I have a 20' 14K equipment trailer that I bought new in 2014, and have used exactly 4 times.
Each of those uses, saved me over $1,000.

It is not likely that I could earn $4,000 on any other $4,400 investment over 6 years, .....and the trailer is probably still worth $4,400.
I do keep everything inside!

I foresee even less use for the trailer in the future, but am reluctant to sell it.
I consider it to be a unique type of savings account, and always available, if I, or my sons, should need it.

I bought a used Top Brand trailer in 2008, paid $1,400. 12k, 16'". Took care of it, Run on to a 14K 18' decided it might suit me better. For$3000. Needed new brakes ($200) and I am going to paint it this week. Sold the Top Brand this Fri. for $2,650 and I think I could have $3000 out of it. Good clean trailers hold their value and are hard to come by, most are beat to death. I purchased a 14k 18' Load Trail off Craig list, unseen (looked great in pictures. ) New one is about $4300, they wanted $3200 for it and I saved sales tax. I drove 270 miles to pick it up and it was a piece of junk. Tires wore out, needed electrical work, lights repaired and powder coated paint coming off in sheets and even on wheels. I made him a offer of $2200 and he took it. I figured I could do a little work and resell it to pay for my gas. It needed so much work it wasn't worth it. Run a ad on Craig list and sold it for $2800
