Mahindra 5530 not starting

I have a Mahindra 5530.
the other day it lost power. And died. Started back up no problem. Then it died again. Wouldn’t start back up. Checked the fuel lines. Checked wires. Found that the oil pressure sensor wire came loose. Still will not start. I’m getting fuel to all three injectors. Will start with starting fluid. But won’t stay running. What do ever. Check the fuel **** off solenoid. It works. I’m at a lost. A Diesel mechanic looked at it. Said I’m getting to much fuel??? Said the pump is bad. ??? Anything would help. Thanks

If you've not done so, check your air cleaner and the air passage from there to the intake manifold.

Starting fluid is not recommended for a diesel engine as it ignites at a far lower temperature than diesel and its use can damage your engine. If you are getting too much fuel normally as you try to start it you will get black smoke out the exhaust. A clogged air intake can also cause the too much fuel symptom. Open a fuel line at or before the fuel filter to see if you have steady flow at that point. Replace the fuel filter. If you have a water separator drain off any water. Follow procedure in manual to bleed air from fuel lines. Cross your fingers and try it again. Another possibility could be water in the fuel.

I suspect you are not getting enough fuel. Adding starting fluid to a engine already getting to much fuel does not equate in my mind.

I would pull the stop solenoid and see if it will start then. If it does you then you just have to determine if the solenoid is bad or a voltage issue.

The easiest thing to do is get the solenoid out of the equation.. that way U can tell if it’s an electrical problem or fuel problem..
It’s possible the solenoid is breaking down internally..(coils).. OR.. something is telling the solenoid to shut the engine down..
So just take it out or wire the plunger open..
Let us know what you find.

Sorry I haven’t gotten back to any of the ideas. So I checked the air all seems good with it. Check the fuel shut off solenoid. “Pulled the plunger out tried to start it”. Didn’t want to fire without starter fluid. So my thinking is. Pump. Or injectors. So obviously injector is cheaper. To see if an injector wasn’t opening. I took the fuel line off the middle injector. Sorry I don’t know the numbers of them. Took line off the injector. Held my thumb over the fuel line. Turned it over. Diesel came out of the injector. Sprayed upwards towards the top of the tractor. If that makes since. All the to say. Is it supposed to do that? Is that normal? Thank you

I also was wrong on where the start solenoid is. Finally understood. Figured that out. Thank you for the advise on that.

That means the injectors are stuck open.. if fuel came out of the injector when the line was off..

U don’t want to get cheap injectors off the web..
Take them ALL to a diesel fuel injection shop.. or u can send them to me..
If they’re stuck, the only way that happens is if water or a heavy dose of bio fuel was in the tank..
Loosen ALL THE LINES and see if THE PUMP IS PUMPING.
