Our property taxes are less than $100 per month.

Move to Northern VA.

I have an Ag exception, conservation exceptions, land type exceptions and pay 4 times that.

I think in a few years I will qualify for age exceptions.

I had my annual health insurance required physical yesterday. History of falls was covered hard. Until reading this article this morning I never associated tooth loss increasing risk of falling due to muscle loss. Pockets of infection near the brain being a negative makes sense after thinking about it.

AG land taxes are cheap here. Improved property, not so much. My farm is also located in the sixth highest school tax rate in the State of Missouri. All for 3 graduating Seniors...... That's another story.....

A friend of mine came very close to death because he never took care of his teeth. Infection got into his blood. Healthy teeth, healthy body.

Side story. 3 years ago I got infection behind my last jaw tooth on the right side. Went to the Dentist and he took a better xray, rather than the simple ones they use. He found my wisdom tooth buried in my jaw bone. It had never came to the surface. Infection got down in there from having my teeth cleaned, which I do twice a year.

Went to a specialist. Requires major surgery to remove. 90% chance they'll break my jaw bone. If so they would graft a bone from my leg and rebuild the jaw bone. Had a scheduled surgery. Covid hit. Surgery canceled. I've just left it alone. It's been there for decades. My hygienist just don't dig around behind that last tooth. No problems.

Now that I know what I'm poking around for, I can put my finger on it under my jaw bone. Makes me think I'm going to throw up. No return of infection.

My Dental Hygienist says I'm special. I tell her she is too.

What a rip-off ovrszd. Sounds like our county. We got sucked into a 2% permanent property tax increase to pay for a couple of new voluntary fire department buildings & trucks. Little did the residents think about 'permanent' meant for this and future 'lifetimes'.

Supposedly it was supposed to also allow residents to gain a cut in insurance rates. That didn't happen. Further, no new fire stations were built within 10 miles of our place, nor was there one beforehand. Seems that all we got out of that blunder was the cost with no benefits.

Property and school tax here is almost $1,000/mo. And they wonder why people are leaving NY state...... Yes, we have a nice house, on 45 acres, but we've been retired for 6 years with no COLA's. We're fortunate to both have good pensions, we have not touched our 401k's or started SS. We've been debt free for 11 years, that facilitated the early retirement option. That, decent pensions, healthy savings and well funded 401k's. No regrets retiring at 55. I finally have time to get my chores done.

Property and school tax here is almost $1,000/mo. And they wonder why people are leaving NY state...... Yes, we have a nice house, on 45 acres, but we've been retired for 6 years with no COLA's. We're fortunate to both have good pensions, we have not touched our 401k's or started SS. We've been debt free for 11 years, that facilitated the early retirement option. That, decent pensions, healthy savings and well funded 401k's. No regrets retiring at 55. I finally have time to get my chores done.

The masses don't get pensions anymore. Last pension I had, frozen, closed out circa 1996ish.

But we do get to contribute more to our 401k's! Brilliant!

Wow I have never heard of that happening. If you can keep it infection free that may be the route that I would go. It looks like that tooth is actually functionally part of your jaw bone.

We live in a house on a tad over 1 acre in the county. 1350 sq ft. 24 x 44 garage. 12 x 16 garage. 24' pool. That's under $1000 per year. We also have farm land out in the county, about 9 miles away. 20 acres. zoned AG. No structures. That's a tad over $1000 a year.

Wow I have never heard of that happening. If you can keep it infection free that may be the route that I would go. It looks like that tooth is actually functionally part of your jaw bone.

I see long term inflammation as the root of most all diseases.

The tooth functioning as part of my jaw bone was the primary concern. And why they were pretty confident my jaw bone would break when it's removed. Leaving a large gap that would have to be filled.
