I think he just tried hard to be a good person, and the failed presidency was just a bad bump along the road of a very long life. His election was a bad national knee-jerk reaction to Nixon, and some of the other corruption happening at the time, and people naively thinking that electing a Boy Scout was a good idea. Unfortunately, peanut farming may not have been the best training for the presidency.

They had a nice story on the local news tonight about a neighborhood here that Habitat built. They spoke with the woman that lives in the one that Jimmy and Rosalynn worked on in 2018. There's some nice video of Rosalynn and Jimmy pounding nails hanging OSB on vertical walls. She was 91 at the time.

Yep it was 10 years ago October 2013 when the Carters were in Oakland...

The link to the story also details how 8 volunteers working construction at the Habitat site were robbed at gunpoint of their tools...

I know the area well... and as is said now you now the rest of the story and why all the security...

Its the same neighborhood where I came home to find my new windows with aluminum frames ripped out/stolen to be sold for scrap...

Perhaps you should look up which presidents had the highest employment numbers in their first four years. And then look at GDP growth per presidential terms. You'd be surprised at what facts will show.

I don't believe that should reflect totally on the president as there are many factors including how bad the last potus left the economy or whether congress was willing to work with him/them.

Personally I feel one of the best #s you can tell how a current president is doing is how happy the the population is towards the end of their term…..

Right now the current admin isn’t looking good…..

There should be a lot of metrics that are considered, measurable ones, when considering the success of the POTUS. Not, the media doesn't like them.

To name a few: foreign relations, economic measures, fuel prices, strategic direction of environmental agencies, public safety, race relations within the country, educations systems, military strength and advancement, taxes and government spending and fiscal responsibility. Just to name a few.
