Tractors and wood! Show your pics

Here is a shot of the mill from a couple weeks ago when I was working on some old telephone poles. That was 2800 bd ft worth of creosote smelling nastyness.... but made cheap posts for my buddy’s barn project. Wood-Mizer LT35 hydraulic. It’s been a pretty good one so far.

Buying Advice  Considering new 2607H... anyone have real world experience? Loader capacity in questi

Does anyone on here have a 2600h series mfwd with the 911x loader? With some real hours on it? I’m considering upgrading from my Kubota MX5100 to a heavier real utility tractor. I like the feel and weight of the 2600h series... but on paper the 911x loader is a total wuss. The 2607 is bare bones...

Advice on buying a low hour Z840A

Local fella has a nice low hour Z840a for sale. Anyone here have any experience with the Z800 series deeres? I'd like to know the good bad and ugly before I make an offer. It's a very clean unit I'm just curious about the track record of these machines. I haven't kept up on deeres zero turn...

    New PJ dump trailer

dump trailer search is finally over with! I spent hours researching and visiting dealers to look at trailers because this is a big investment for me. I narrowed it down to PJ, Load Trail, or Sure trac. I settled on this little PJ because the dealer is local and has good reputation and the...

Anyone with info on Griffin dump trailers?

I'm considering purchase of a Griffin brand dump trailer. They look very well built but any user feedback would be appreciated. They use a dual ram hoist not a scissor hoist which may or may not be good depending on who I talk to. My only experience has been with scissor type hoists which work...

    Advice on Griffin dump trailer

I've been shopping for a dump trailer and came across the griffin brand. They look well built but I know nothing about them. My main concern is that they use a twin cylinder hoist instead of scissor type. Will this type of system work well hauling dirt or stone if...obviously...loaded properly...

    Aquiline tire chains any good?

My dad and I are both looking for chains for our tractors. We use them in the woods regularly and we like the looks of the aquiline talon and foresttrac chains. I'd like some feedback on the quality of these chains. They sure save you some money over the TRYGG chains but if they are not quality...

    Massey ferguson 1529 skid plate

Thought I'd share this here as well. My dad asked me to help him weld up a skid plate for his 1529 massey and this is what we came up with.

    Massey ferguson 1529 skid plate

My dad uses his new 1529 mainly in the woods and for bush hogging and asked me to help him fab a skid plate to add some protection. We used 3/8" plate to add some weight as well. It fastens with four bolts using the loader sub frame brackets.

    Tire chains for forestry use

My dad and I both are beginning to look at tire chains for our tractors. He has a Massey 1529 and I have a kubota MX 5100. We both use them in the woods extensively and this winter has been tricky what with all the snow.....we need chains. We want quality and we like the looks of the aquiline...

    New MX for 2014

Just saw on kubotas sight they're bringing out the new MX series for 2014. I'm anxious to see if there are any improvements or if they're just going to be more expensive because of emissions. I can handle more complicated if I get more performance in return. Of course I don't know why I'm...

    Comparison  Stoutest rotary cutter?

In the market for a new 6' cutter. I have all the major brands available fairly close. I'm looking for a "medium duty" cutter as the manufacturers put it so something like a 1872 or 2072 LP or a 172 Rhino. I would love a heavy duty cutter with 3" capacity but can't justify the extra $1000 since...

    Wood splitter valve problem

I have a brave wood splitter that I modified with a log lift. When I added the valve for the log lift just plumbed the outlet of the splitter valve into the inlet of the log lift valve. It works fine but I have an ongoing issue with the splitter valve leaking at the back of the spool. Keep in...
