I'm a big fan of this type of filter wrench. It's geared inside so as you turn counter clockwise the teeth bite in. One size fits all. :)

Thanks for the info. The filter is actually shown on a different diagram. Mine is indeed horizontal and on the right side. The first diagram I attached just shows the dipstick and drain plug. I bought a gallon of the low-vis hy-gard. Do I need to stick with Type F if that's what comes out...

Hey all. I got all my parts/fluids in to do my first service on the 265. I don't have a manual yet so have a couple questions on the procedure. -Is this as simple as removing the drain plug, changing the filter, and filling to the correct level on the dipstick? I've read that some other GTs...

I just picked up a 265 that came with one of these. It has a little pneumatic piston. Does yours not or did you remove it? Here's a pic of it "dumping". I'm actually looking to sell it if anyone local is interested. I just don't have the space or need for it right now.

I just wanted to drop a "hey everyone" in here. I'm now the 3rd owner of a JD 265 garden tractor with 46" deck. 500hrs on the clock and it's in pretty good shape for the age. It's mostly complete with no real damage to speak of. I know I know, pics or it didn't happen. :) I'll snap some soon...
