Setting it on the hood wasn’t too bad on my JD1120.
But that high fender stuff, with a cab is hilariously bad.
It’s nice to just be able to walk up and fill the tank with a cab from the ground..
It also makes gravity bulk tanks less ridiculous to put together as they can be lower if needed.
Oh man I forgot about the 4052 and the high fender refuel.
That was the other major no go besides the door seals falling off on the lot for me and my wife who has a bad back.
Hydro noise IS something I strongly considered while tractor shopping. It is why I cross shopped Deere, they actually publish cab dB readings.
It’s pretty quiet on my MF except during dramatic power changes but that’s to be expected.
I even cross shopped loans at credit unions and stuff but the 0% “scheme”still worked out to be the best deal even if it “feels” deceiving.
Still, everyone should do their homework and do some simple math.
And I agree about tractor pricing, that’s why I bought the tractor 2 years earlier than...
I did have an idea of the interest rate, loan terms and monthly payment.
They drew up both sets of paperwork.
In the end, it was about $70/mo less to do the 0% +finance charge than the 5% or whatever it was without the finance charge.
The risk for me is I owe more in pay off which would...
0% on my MF meant the same length loan but lower payments. As I plan on keeping this tractor past the end of the loan(forever?), 0% made sense for my case.
I was unimpressed with the quality of cab components on the Deere and some weird design choices.
However you have an excellent point about parts diagrams/ordering. Deere is a big winner there, especially if you like shopping online.
I really wanted the Branson due to the cost and I liked the mechanical fuel injection/passive dpf system (easy to delete in the future). It is a well built tractor upon first hand inspection.
The Branson’s shortcomings for us were:
- The dealer felt temporary. They were a high volume dealer with...
I was shopping for a similar sized tractor recently.
I cross shopped:
-Branson 20 series hydro cab
-JD4052R hydro/cab
- Massey 2850M hydro/cab
I ended up with the Massey for a multitude of reasons.
If you have a good Massey dealer nearby it’s worth a look.
Update.
Only two issues so far, minor at that.
Airride seat is finicky and sometimes wants to keep raising seat fully until you jiggle switch just right.
Leaky valve core on right front tire(holds air with cap installed though!)
I did the (expensive) 50 hr service.
That same expensive...
In the end the Massey got me with :
10yr warranty(extended for free, I’m military)
Air ride seat
Seat could move close enough for wife
Ingress/egress was easier than other tractors
Clean out screens for radiator
Struts on both doors(looking at you Deere[emoji52])
Adjustable hst response...
