FINAL UPDATE - PROBLEM SOLVED
Ok. So after replacing the entire fuel system, the problem was where we first started - the governor flyweight sticking.
NB. For future reference, see my earlier video of the engine running with the throttle plate off so the governor fingers are visible. My original...

Thanks dd.
Yeah the governor shaft assembly is about the only thing left in the fuel system we haven't replaced so I'm ready to order that now.
Before i do that though, I would like to know that the two fuel adjustments are within factory range. Any directions on how to find their factory...
Yeah that's my feeling.
I think the governor is the only remaining fuel system component we haven't changed.
On adjustments, there's are a few that I'd like to figure out how to make sure they are at the original factory setting.
1. The one on the bottom side of the Injector Pump
2. The one on...
UPDATE
My apologies to all for the delay. It has taken me forever to get hold of a Diesel Compression Tester with the adapters i needed.
So to update:
INJECTOR PUMP > I got the Injector Pump professionally rebuilt and calibrated by our local Bosch injector/pump specialist - no change to over...

Instability is probably the wrong description. You're right that it's stable once it reaches the throttle setting. What I'm referring to is that when you set the throttle, it takes so long for the revs to get up or down to where you've set it that you need to keep make adjustments once it...
Update: Uncoupled Hydraulic Motor
OK, I've uncoupled the hydraulic motor to remove any effect of the hydraulics on the revs.
See video.
In my introduction I say that uncoupling the motor had stabilised the revs but then my test on camera completely disproved that as the RPMs were all over the...
I agree (somewhat) but is it not working because it's faulty or because it's maxed out trying to compensate for an unusual hydraulic load?
I have had the governor out and while it is a bit worn, nothing is broken or missing and everything moves smoothly and freely - forks/fingers, flyweight...
Yeah, you're right - kind of.
Max RPM for the D1105-BH in the KX41 is 2600RPM.
Though, from what I've seen, the D1105 comes in various configurations for different applications and max RPM ranges from 2300-3300.
