    20 inch chainsaw recommendation

I'll also recommend a Sthil MS260 with a 24” bar. 24 “ bar is for the taller users out there. I’m 6’4” and told old to be bending over all the time.

    Snow chains

This is my special tool for tightening the camlock. Helps get the chains real tight.

    Snow chains

Just a trick for when your are putting chains on the tires for the first time to get them fitted. Take and jack the rear tires off the ground so that both tires are off the ground. It makes it a lot easier to get the chains fitted to the tires because you can turn the tires to get them fitted tight.

    Culvert cleaning

Working on the plugged culvert problem again. Boy did I eat an extra big bowel of stupid “O”s for breakfast today. Got the tractor stuck trying to clear the problem culvert. Just cannot win sometimes.

I welded two disk brake rotors on a piece of pipe and then pulled through the culvert a couple times to clean the culvert out

    Best and worst chainsaw?

I’ve done about 35 years of firewood work and my favorite saws are a Jonsered 2171 and a Stihl ms260. The jonsered was a big saw a used mostly for bucking logs. It was fast and a bit heavy and would cut fast. It was also very comfortable cutting saw. Used the MS260 for felling and trimming trees...

    Milwaukee 18V impact gun?

I have a model 265820 which great for just about anything. Also got the Milwaukee 1/2” drive metric and inch inpact socket sets. There have been times when I have to use the old standby craftsman corded impact for the more stubborn bolts.

    Culvert cleaning

This culvert at one time had a family of skunks living in it. Threw a handful on mothballs in the culvert to make them leave. Attack stinky with a stinky works all the time. 🤣

    Culvert cleaning

I did get a tire through the culvert without any problem using a chain and a tagline rope. The tire just wouldn’t clear the sand and gravel

    Culvert cleaning

I tried calling the fire department and they gave ma a firm “NO”. I think they have been called about this way to many of a time lately.

    Culvert cleaning

Due to some extreme rain with flooding I have some 16” culverts that need to be cleaned out. They are full of debris and a lot of fine sand a gravel. I tried the trick of pulling a tire through the culvert with limited success. The tire cleared the debris put little of the sand and gravel. From...

    You Have a Cab?

Old age and extreme weather dictated that I get a cab. After many Winters sitting on a tractor with no cab plowing snow I finally got a tractor with a cab. I went from this… To this….
