After starting the project in mid-August during a vacation, to breaking a piston which delayed 3 weeks for parts. Then having to wait till the outage was over, we finally have water and power to the animals

added my 1.5" spacers today
stock no spacers

1.5" spacer added

rt_side_offset.jpg

since my backing plate was in real good shape I did not want to alter it. I picked up some M12 1.5 pitch 50mm bolts and drove them thru backside with loctite on last few threads. do not use lock washer/etc here if you do this, you want the bolt head as tight against axle flange as possible. I spun them in to approx 50 ft lbs torque and let loctite cure a few minutes.

then just bolt on the adapter, I had a bunch of old lugnuts from wifes 2013 explorer which were also a 12m 1.5 pitch so that worked out well.

and then just toss tire on like normal. even if I hadn't been going with a spacer I would have done this as hanging a tire off a stud is a LOT easier then holding a tire up to a hole and inserting a lug BOLT.

Been a great week of vacation. Did the 500 hr service on the machine then got to work on a series of projects. I trenched a gas line to my garage to power a workshop heater for the winter before it really sets in. Then backfilled the trench once everything tested out ok. Then strapped up the chipper and whipped out my trusty Echo CS-400 and turned a crabapple tree into woodchips. The little tractor never ceases to amaze me.

30k BTU unit with built in fan to dispurse heat over a 480sq ft garage that isn't really greatly insulated. Unit itself is advertised for 1k sq ft

Ahh, I'll probably need 100-125k btu and I'm looking at midline or similar.
