Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 75 going to 83, yes , much cooler. No rain showed up last night.
Went into town after work, pretty empty with the heat, so nice relaxing by the river watching the little boats and ducks. go by.

This morning 2 young bucks and a doe in the front, and about 6 does and a fawn in the front last night. We are surrounded. Getting ticks on me every other day, premethrin spray is working as they seem to slow down and not attach when I find them and brush them off.

So got asked to help Dads GF with the property taxes since someone called her about tax litigation.
I went on the site I used last time and the property is not listed at all!
Called them, all is ok, call was a scam. It seems at the end of the tax year the data goes off line.
But they don't tell you that , so your house just disappears from their site, can't make this stuff up.

Out later to pack car, sharpen some chains and get ready for tomorrow.

Be well,

It's funny how the deer see me and just hang out, but as soon as they see my little dog, they are off and running. except the fawn which kept running back and forth :)

anyone who has ever whacked themselves in the face with a starter rope
well I guess we are showing our age...
like Scott using a crank on his car
Years ago i got called out to a drilling rig for a service call on a 3" diesel powered trash pump.

Employee neglected to roll the engine over to the compression stroke and hit the compression release. So they broke the pull cord.

In the employees infinite wisdom, they then removed the pull start, tie a rope to the shaft the pull start engaged with, wind said rope and gave it a tug.

The unit started

Wound the cord back onto the shaft and then shredded the rope. Thankfully the dude didn't get wound up with it.

When I got there and checked in, the boss man just shook his head, pointed me to where the pump was and said to give him the bill before I left.

At this point I knew I was gonna find something interesting, but had know clue what that was until I found the shredded rope

Being an equipment rental mechanic is never dull.

There are scam calls going around for "income tax relief".

I get a call each day from them, different number, different state each time.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 81° going to a high of 81° Cloudy and humid maybe rain later tonight.

Well, it's officially my turn to have the cold my sister brought for the 4th. First my mother, then dad, now me. Great. Started feeling not so hot yesterday morning, battled through work until lunch time, then took off. I had already planned on taking Friday off to drive to Buffalo, but I'm not going to drive 5 hours with a pounding head and then infect everyone there. So now I'm just loafing about, sipping water and endlessly blowing my nose.

On the plus side, I did put through the order for the Equipment trailer. So I'll pick that up on Thursday most likely after dropping off a cashier's check. Finally, the Kubota is long distance mobile. And good timing too, more land a County over to go look at. Maybe I'll do that on Sunday if I can beat this back enough. Parents are shipping off for the shore on Sunday. Time does indeed fly. I remember being a kid and vacation was the midpoint of the summer, then it was a slow slide back into class.

For you all who are going to help Drew tomorrow, be safe! I look forward to the pictures.
Buppies, Hang in there!

All not specified, be safe and enjoy the weekend y'all!
Prayers for all Ailing and Recovering!

67F, damp, and overcast @ 11:15, just had a little rain shower ... not registering in the gauge here, nearby LWS reports 0.05". Calling for a high of 78F for the day. Chances of rain dropping considerably within the next hour or so.

Charging port on phone has gotten flakey so probably time to order a wireless charger.

Trimming and weaving on the indeterminate tomatoes on the straight trellis first thing yesterday morning.

Then cut another ten 2’ bamboo stakes and got those stuck in next to the peppers. Still need to do another 10 or so for the Hungarian Wax peppers.

Refilled hopper feeder and one suet feeder, also scattered some seeds for the ground feeders. Still need to refill tube feeders.

After that I hauled the 3 new t posts around back to the row of pumpkins along the back of the frog pond and dropped those off and then ran over and hooked up the dump cart and loaded up the tools that were needed and drove those around back.

Then it was uncaging the pumpkin vines. That ended up being a bit of a PITA since they had a growth spurt and were all about 4' to 6’ long.

Got the 3 Small Sugars and the Big Max all uncaged, still have 2 Casper’s left to do.

Then got the 3 t posts driven after running a string line between the end posts to locate the middle post so it was in line.

Ran around front and loaded the cattle panel onto the lower teeth on the grapple on the Kubota and hauled it around back and dropped it off.

Back up to the front and swapped the Kubota for the Cub and collected up a couple of 3.5 gallon buckets to set the cattle panel on while I fastened it to the t posts.

Got the panel fastened and then started weaving the Small Sugars up into the panel. The Big Max will stay on the ground due to its potentially large size.

Used the mulch that was in the dump cart to mulch around them, still need to get more to finish that up. So that's likely on the agenda for today.

Spent some time trying to find my phone last night as I was about to head in for the night, had forgotten I had set it on the step ladder out back by the pumpkins ... lol ...

Ordered a cold-brew coffee/tea maker which Menards had on closeout last night.

Today is the last day to get property tax payments in the mail so will run those down to the PO and get them postmarked.

Pick up some more gas for the Cub on the way back.

Refill tube feeders and another suet feeder.

Get those 10' sections of rebar cut.

Install larger/taller cage over the smaller peach tree, same for ginkgo tree and largest Rose of Sharon.

Get both peach trees sprayed, along with some glyphosate spraying if it dries up.

Dole out meds for the coming week.

Beyond that just see what else comes up.

Seeing evidence of the wax beans starting to come up. Also evidence of something digging up the unsprouted beans, probably a chipmunk.

Hope everyone is having a decent TGIF.

71°F and .73 inches rain

As expected yesterday just sort of dwindled away doing little stuff

Guys valiantly lost at cards, giving the gals bragging rights for the week, but in spite of them leading from the get go it came down to final count and we almost pulled it out.

Need to go into town this morning. Need to pick up 10 gal of hydraulic fluid to service LS.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

very nice day out, motivated me to push the trim mower and then mow the lawn.
could have gone another day but back area grows almost an inch a day
so the place looks nice
need to rest, headed to brother's home this afternoon for his birthday dinner.
I got him a dashcam for his car and his grandson can install it. Same Rove unit I have but front
and rear.

still debating moving the post on the step of deck2. started prepping for the steps at the end of the deck2, 3 steps down to ground. cleared the area of dirt, brought in some stone to get it level, will pour a small pad for the bottom stringers to sit on, and considering a post against the house in case I want to put a gate across the steps.
Always have to air up a front tire on the BX when I use it.
Then mowed the front and side yards.
Ran to Lowes for more material, and some for finishing dad's ramp. Still 4 short of the 2x6s, as they needed to restock, and I wasn't going to wait. Can pick those up somewhere on the way to Ohio, whenever I go. Started to sprinkle a little on way home, but stopped when I got home. Not enough to register on the gauge, and boy is it humid now.
