    Texas Fall/Winter thread!

This dust that has been blowing all day is terrible! I saw it predicted on the news but didn't catch where it originated or why. Didn't really notice it until I looked down the street and it looked almost fogging and the pickup that was very clean is now covered in a layer of dust.

    Trailer Tires

I used to go to Walmart and get Goodyear or Carlise tires and then they can be covered under warranty at any Walmart however they stopped offering road hazard on trailer tires. So now you can pay for a cheap unknown brand tire at Walmart and if it fails just buy another one, or you can go to...

    Health Care Prior to Medicare?

I am right there with you! I actually think we have a couple options and either one is going to work for us and be about what I had budgeted for or just under. Only issue right now is, we had to sign up by 2/20 to be covered by 3/1 when my coverage from my past employer expires, so we'll be...

    Health Care Prior to Medicare?

Interesting post. I have to decide this very thing by Friday as I retired last week at 57. I think I've narrowed down to Christian Health Ministry (CHM) or Philadelphia American. A lot of the smaller stuff we'll just pay for which works out to be about what my deductibles were costing me...

Are CUT Manufacturers pricing themselves out of the market?

I was going to say the same thing, local Kubota and JD dealerships have full lots of tractors and implements looks like several to choose from at 32-100 HP at JD, and a few bigger Ag size as well.

Here in Texas it's not at most fuel stations, there are a few scattered a little further from home. Buccee's has it. Interesting thing I noticed, here it's 89 octane, Buccees in MO. it was 91 octane.

Well that was a foreign version I just noticed, the US version doesn't state it the same way but does have this, Will over-dosage cause any harm? No, over-dosage is perfectly OK. Do all HD pickups ride rough?

What year? I posted earlier, our 2019 F350 rides day and night better than our old 2006 F350 did. The 2019 I'd say rides as good as 1/2 ton pickups of 20-30 years ago (All 4wd configurations that is).

Maybe on the Chassis Cab, not the pickup bed trucks. I know all the ford enthusiast say if you're considering a Dual rear wheel F350 skip it and go to the F450, it has higher payload and towing plus a tighter turning radius.

Do all HD pickups ride rough?

Well our 2019 F350 4WD SRW LB CC rides much smoother than our 2006 version did yet has a higher payload and tow capacity. Why? When I bought our LA145 riding mower back in 2009 at Lowe's it had this on it (Still does) but it's been problem free, granted it only has about 350 hours on it so far since the 2016 Spartan 61" ZT has been the main mower used since it's purchase. This is what I was going to say to check based on circumstance. I can start mine while standing beside it with the parking brake on and in N so it can warm up while I do other things so it's not the seat safety, it only activates when in gear and the hydro pedals are pressed.

I think this is the case as for many years Ford seems to have the better "Features" and interior finish over the others, when comparing similar trim levels. Then there is the optional items that step things up even more, if you so desire.

We had a 2012 TDI Passat, awesome car! 44mpg running 80mph in summer with the A/C on and 38-40mpg commuting and around town. Do used truck prices jump in mid December?

Around here they are advertising 0% interest AND about 5K off or 0.9% or 1.9% and so many thousands off, depends on brand. I had an email a week or so ago from an Oklahoma dealer that was showing up to 20K off 3/4 and 1 ton pickups, Ram and GM IIRC.

LS SAYS A REGEN EVERY 2 HOURS IS NORMAL

I recall something for diesel pickups several years ago that after you turn off the key and exited would idle the engine for 2 minutes then shut off. If you needed immediate shutdown, tap the brake pedal. That would be easy enough to incorporate into these tractors.

No it's never been driven through any water and it's stored under a lean to most of the time. Only way it got in is the breather cap let water in while it was outside and/or maybe while I was rinsing it off after using to brush hog last month in super dusty conditions.

I have a few days of brush hogging coming up so I greased the tractor and loader, and decided to check the front axle lube level and it was high! Do you have the Parking brake on and the gear selector in "N"? That should allow it to work. If, yes then the forward/reverse pedals may need the "neutral" position adjusted, it thinks it's not in neutral so when you get out of the seat it kills the motor for safety purposes.

I agree, I can't see needing any more than what the loader lift capacity is for rear ballast. Interesting, I am in the middle of your intervals. I plan to change mine at 300hrs. Haven't used it much the last few months. It just now hit ~295 turning the compost pile after this years first lawn mowing and bagging and the clippings were dumped on the pile.

My view from around NTX/OK. Lots are filling up, rebates are growing. Yes they list them with limitations/disclosures, etc. but that means they are not moving trucks like they were so you, the buyer, have more leverage and can negotiate easier. I think there will be even bigger rebates by July...

It would be stuck open, that's the fail safe mode. When you press the "RIO" (Reverse Implement Operation) button you actually close the circuit to allow the engine to run with the blades on when in reverse. It's a safety thing. If a wire were to ever get cut or damaged, the circuit would be...
