Lightning strike, well pump box failed

The WellxTrol 203 32 Gal at 30/50 has 10 gal drawdown, and at 40/60 9 Gal is about the minimum you would want for the pump to run for about a minute. The reasons to put the filter after the switch are many - when the filter starts to plug it can damage the pump, and if your concerned about...

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

David, I would go with the WellxTrol 203 32 gal - its 15x47" so would fit in that corner on the floor under your existing tank. Just plumb it in series, also with your tank Tee on the new tank put a drain valve. Also do not put the filter before the switch and tanks - that will cause problems...

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

You may have a burst bladder tank, but first turn off the pump, drain/empty the tank to zero on pump guage, and check the bladder tank pressure - it should be 38 PSI empty. Then add air to the schrader valve on the top of the tank it should hold pressure at 38PSI with the tank drain valve open...

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

Fuddy - I agree with Steve TYM comments - 5 seconds is way to short of a cycle. When I re-read your post on checking the ballast tank you said pressure was a "bit high". Was the tank fully drained 0 PSI? Usually when you change the switch to 40-60 in your case, you want 38 PSI in the ballast...

I agree $85-100 per hour should cover the overhead and then some, so $3000-3500 to add these options would be high, but what was the 2023 price vs what is the current 2025 price? The dealer has carrying costs etc,, Seems like there is some padding and adding going on here,

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

Ideally, you want a minimum run time of at least 1 minute for best pump life, so a pump at 10 GPM, would dictate 10 gallon "reserve" to fill before it starts again. Otherwise, every time you draw a gallon or two, the pump cycles on and off. It only runs continuously without cycling when the...

B7610 sudden loss of forward / reverse power

Awesome - Old Onslo gets the prize for proper diagnosis! And the leaking fluid would cause the slippage. Yes they are very heavy filled with fluid - 250-300Lbs maybe? And changing the Hyd fluid, access to the strainer and filters are much easier with the left rear wheel off on my machine.

Yes - we had a farm in PA that had about 20 acres of neighboring woods clear cut - for the next 5-8 years in deer season we would walk the thicket and usually drove 4-6 deer into the fields as they like the thickets.
  54. Carl_NH

What can I spray in the woods to control unwanted growth but not harm trees?

With clear cutting, it's normal for the forest to grow back brushy with briars, then the trees take over and there are fewer briars—but it takes 10 years before the forest returns. If a select cut was done there should be fewer briars and weeds. Anything that kills the brush will also kill...

Wouldn't hurt to ask the dealer what it would cost to add one now and a few bucket hooks. Cutting edges are $200-350 - just depends on the bolt pattern. That bucket appears to be similar to this one from Ignite Attachments and they have a cutting edge for $175 a good deal. 60-Inch Compact...

    parts at outrageous prices

If its bakelite you cant plastic weld as it doesn't melt it but JB Weld would work and for that $$$ it is worth a try. Could also buy a 3DPrinter for $500 to 1000 and make the part and more parts for other things too!

    Moffett piggyback parts needed

So the second picture it appears welding has been done around the base of the block that holds the solenoid. Is the leak at the welded block or the valve and associated connectors? The allen heads on the face of the valve block indicate it should be removable, but the welding may have been an...

Got my sawmill up and running!!! TIME TO MILL!!!

No glue - PT Framing (2" foam board between joists), with 3/4 PT Plywood on top of deck, then asphalt paper underlayment, then red rosin paper and the pine on top of that. Floor boards had been in the top of my barn 10 years, dry and no shrinkage. The 6x8 oak beams were 9-10% moisture so...

Got my sawmill up and running!!! TIME TO MILL!!!

Flatness wasn't an issue as it was a new build, but these were S4S - smooth 4 sides so just butt joints, and the warpage was a challenge. Screwed a block of wood to the subfloor, then drove a wedge in to get them as tight as possible. If you don't get the warp out, it compounds over the next...

Got my sawmill up and running!!! TIME TO MILL!!!

thats Hawkins hollow in the first picture 2nd and 3rd board! Really n=cool what the wood exposes when cut - we had a lot of logs milled - pine and oak and the red knot pine 14" wide on the floor and ceiling is pretty neat. This is the summer house we built 2 years ago with the wood from the...

    New 2024 Cub Cadet Ultima ZTXS5 54

Here's the service manual and it states 2.1 liters. Interestingly, my 14 YO Kawasaki FH721V states the same thing in liters. I have always added 2 quarts and checked levels and added more if needed.

5030 you are correct, the Kawasaki manual and believe written on the dipstick too, says to rest the cap on the fill port not screwed in to check the level. That could be the problem, but I think the machine is just sitting over the winter (not running) and still leaking.

    New 2024 Cub Cadet Ultima ZTXS5 54

Runner, I presume you are not running the unit now and still getting oil leaking out? I have had no leaks on my FH751 25HP - but some models as 5030 point out will leak under certain conditions. I think a visit to the dealer to see what they say and or reach out to your regional Kawasaki rep...

    3 pt. auger/post hole digger

For tractor, skid steer, or excavator its the hydraulic flow. more than PSI to run an implement and second is the PSI range. Most tractors operate 2500-2800 PSI - Skid steers 3500, and excavators 3500-4500 - the higher pressure will lift/dig more, the higher flow will run implements like snow...

    How to improve leaf vacuums???

If you can find an older used trac vac cart deal and put your vac on that - they have angled sides front to back making it easy to dump - also if you make the screen top larger allows for more air flow. It takes me 3 minutes to back up, open the rear door, dump, pull away and tilt back, latch...

Kromc5 - nice presents and thank letter too! What ever happened to the $10,000 the dealer / Yanmar wanted for insurance?

    Tractor Hours/Year

The mechanical / cable driven hour meters are usually calibrated to PTO RPM = 1 hour - some others use 2000 RPM. My Kubota has the mechanical hour meter and will take like 10 minutes to click over a 1/10 (6 min) of an hour running at 1500 RPM. A link to a thread about this Hour meter operation??

    Backhoe

Agreement with everything posted thus far - another option is a Mini ex either a new Chinese mini which for $4K you can get a 1 ton gas model and for $9K a 2 ton Diesel model. Pros - are inexpensive, can do a decent amount of work, good for small projects, trenching, occasional homeowner use...

    Tractor Hours/Year

760 hours in 24 years some years 50+ when there are bigger projects other years 25-30 hours when there are none but invaluable when needed to lift/move/haul/dig dirt, split wood and move brush etc. Usually run at 1500 to 1700 RPM and the hour meter is mechanical which registers fewer hours at...

B2620 engine "stuttering" occasionally, sometimes stalling

Check your fuel and air filter - mine started stuttering twice - once the fuel filter was nearly collapsed, - replaced it and it was fine. The second time doing a lot of dirt work in dry and dusty conditions - became harder to start - air filter was very dirty - replaced and it's been fine...
