"AGM Car" batteries for less used tractors?

Minnesota that is one way to handle it and it works if you don’t forget it and leave it on all week. It’s old. Probably lots of wear Would be expensive to fix. Would it be out of the question to keep it idled high? I’m sorry but I don’t know an easy fix. Maybe others will have better suggestions. I’ve had old cars in the past do that till I traded them off.

Tractor Sizing 6' brush hog on a 30Hp tractor

I pull a ten foot woods with a 75 HP Massey. In rank stuff it almost runs hot. But I cut fast. Long straight field go forward then switch to reverse to save turning. Don’t look hardly as good but I get out of the heat and dust quicker. Thanks for the reply i have heard that. We all know when...

Tractor Sizing 6' brush hog on a 30Hp tractor

It depends. You may have owned a heavy five footer, and you may be replacing it with a new light weight six footer. Making the handeling of you new bush hog the same as before. Now if you have enough horse power all depends on what to are going over, and only you know that. May be an opportunity...

    Kubota 3PL is too tight.

From what you said, it’s free everywhere else. Those thing are probably on a spline shaft. Not much way to soak them or put a puller on them. I have never seen that issue before. Sorry I can’t benefit sometimes it generates ideas to just discuss it

Price Check Is this a fair deal on Massey - Ferguson GC1710

It does look to be a great deal. But I don’t think it’s big enough to handle your needs. If you already have it, take good care of it. Then you can sell it at a profit and start the journey over! I think you need nothing smaller than a fifty horse. Seventy five will get you done quicker

    Woods vs LandPride Finish Mower

Capt either one would probably serve you well. My older woods does have a slip clutch. It’s a 10 footer so it has some really heavy duty pivot wheels on the back. And this is some really heavy metal for a deck. I think the decision is a preference thing. Woods is a little better if you will...

New member, Old Problem S2554 Click but no turn over

Since that solenoid is inside the starter, if that voltage remains constant while that key is turned the only thing left is within the starter. Be it a bad solonoid, or a bad starter motor. It might take two people to do this.
  150. M

    Woods vs LandPride Finish Mower

I vote for woods. I’ve owned this 25 years and no problems and the cut is spectacular. Have fun with whatever you choose sir
  151. M

New member, Old Problem S2554 Click but no turn over

About the starter, the only thing I would know to do is place my digital volt meter as close as possible to that solenoid. Both of them, positive and negative. Then observe and confirm voltage at that point while it is clicking. That should give direction in which way to work. Good luck sir

Ford 3000 3 pt. lift arms wait and wait to lift after sitting

That’s the way. You can keep those pistons and springs till you need them. From what you said, the pump is fine after it’s primed. Good indicator that end is fine. But you never know and I’m just trying to help. Check everything in that circuit while you are there. O rings if involved. That...
  154. M

Ford 3000 3 pt. lift arms wait and wait to lift after sitting

It could. I’m not that technical. The seal will look perfect, wore or degraded just enough for oil not to seal it as it should. And the shaft may be scored instead. Never know until you investigate my friend. I like the way you think, good luck sir
  155. M

Ford 3000 3 pt. lift arms wait and wait to lift after sitting

Right. The shaft seal, where it is driven by the flywheel is the most likely culprit. It keeps the pump from priming then once it primes it’s good until you stop again. The pump is going to be removed the take the back end off. I buy the seals vintage tractor 800-853-2651

I vote JB weld. Walk by it and look, and think that stuff really holds. Maybe make a tv commercial.
  157. M

Ford 3000 3 pt. lift arms wait and wait to lift after sitting

Steve it the end that driven by the flywheel. Don’t mess with that other end, got a lot of springs and such. It will prime right up when you get that fixed. And even if you need a new wobble shaft it ain’t to costly. Good luck sir
  158. M

Ford 3000 3 pt. lift arms wait and wait to lift after sitting

Yes sir. It is a wobble shaft pump
  159. M

Ford 3000 3 pt. lift arms wait and wait to lift after sitting

My experience tells me your pump seal is most likely bad, on the suction side. It isn’t priming like it should. Not an expensive fix and not difficult

    Broken air compressor cooling fin

Be fun to see if JB weld will hold it. Either way I would just not look that way

Dump trailer bounces on the way down (if coming down heavy)

Sodo I do not think an accumulator would help your situation. That should be a simple hydraulic circuit. But it might be layed out so it’s difficult to follow. also gauges in some places would help. And don’t forget that you may be overloading that thing to. But if it isn’t air that oil is...

  165. M

Dump trailer bounces on the way down (if coming down heavy)

That bounce sounds a lot like air is somewhere in there. That fluid would have to be compressing and that don’t happen. Just my two cents worth

What should I look for? AC clutch dropping out.

That is very good possibility I don’t know who they wire them. I’ve never seen a clutch just fall out wit voltage on it. AC is one of my specialties and the electric part is the easy part
  171. M

What should I look for? AC clutch dropping out.

True. But once that clutch gets pulled in the work for the coil is practically over.and it should stay in if the voltage doesn’t drop. Either the coil is opening, as he states the voltage is constant, or he is incorrect and the voltage is leaving monetary at that point the other poster might be...

What should I look for? AC clutch dropping out.

Chin I don’t believe it works like that. Less windings would decrease magnetic pull. And every one seems to forget that this gentleman has proper voltage on the clutch coil, and it still drops out. I know they are expensive but if it were me and I was gonna keep this machine I would change...

Mr Newbury, he states the clutch falls out, with the presents of voltage on it. Don’t that pretty much prove all other things are there? Just asking

I would think the clutch coil is going bad.

John Deere 5320 No or very little power to the starter?

    Ford Golden Jubilee Battery

Brack without assuming to much you should be able to see if the voltage regulator is still hooked up. And if it’s visible it be marked somewhere. Also if it has an alternator you could safely assume it’s 12 volt. You are smart by checking this out, the devices work best at their rated voltage. I...
