Hydraulic blowers love power. Get a correctly sized PTO pump and reservoir. You're looking at 3/4" hose or a bit larger. Winter ambient temps with a reservoir likely will not need a cooler. I've run 20 years without a cooler and it's fine. Reasonably warm fluid temps will help prevent water...

The warning and chime come on when the DPF is being cleaned. The process seems to take 15 minutes or so. Occurs maybe every 10 hours or so on my KX040. Run the motor full throttle while cleaning the DPF. In normal use, also run full throttle, or at least 1900-2000 rpm. DPF's do not like low rpms.

Good suggestion. The provider may very well have such a program. At least in the past, there was a requirement that hearing aids be returnable. I believe it was a federal requirement. The trial period was something like 30 days.

Mechanical self-leveling loaders have some limits at extreme combinations of lift and curl. Being somewhat proficient with a loader, it bothered me some when first using it. That said, I have grown to REALLY like my self-leveling loader. I seriously doubt I'd buy a loader without it.

I too have a KX-040, now with about 160 hours. May first mini excavator. Our ground has a lot of rock and little soil. Your track and sprocket look fine to me. The rubber on the track and paint on the sprokets will come off with wear...as yours does.

My pearl of wisdom is stop doing that! Related: The controls outside the JD cab work well for connecting to the 3ph and draw bar. The tractor "creeps" at a rather slow speed, which I'll bet is for safety and to limit legal liability. I find it useful.

Isn't that the truth! I knew a guy who routinely loaded with way too much lounge weight. One day the trailer said "Enough!". The tongue on the trailer folded to about a 45-degree bend.

If things get ugly, the chain can prevent the bucket and whatever it is attached to from moving. Imagine a backhoe or mini excavator with the swinging about if not chained.

We get them on undeveloped waterfront we own. Crazy lowball "offers". We get fewer now than when we first bought the land. Not sure why...that market has been reasonably stable.

True. Keep in mind the minimum pressure is dependent on the load. A load table will guide you. It might not go all the way down to when the trailer is empty...but it's a start.

The availability and quality of VA medical care varies by location. Sometimes it's a matter of the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Generally I have received excellent service. It's a HUGE federal bureaucracy, so the getting help as mentioned in previous posts is very good advise.

A good grease gun and a lot of quality grease cartridges. These things LOVE grease! :) Powered grease guns are very handy, BUT I personally do not own one. I use high quality pistol grip grease guns. Personal preference...I like to feel if there is any unusual resistance when greasing.

I had a TLB for almost 20 years. Then I added a cabbed tractor. Then a mini-excavator and sold the TLB. The tractor is twice as old as the mini-excavator. Yet, the mini-excavator has twice the hours! I would of never guessed!

The various product's are indeed very similar...they are lanolin based. FWIW, Woolwax is available in several viscosities. "Traditional", LV (low viscosity) and XLV (extra low viscosity). They also have a line of "undercoating" that dries hard.

Totally agree, hot water is WAY better than cold water on grease, oil... It also seems to work well rinsing off car shampoo. Just don't run it too hot because it tends to remove car wax!

Many engines have been successfully pressure washed. With a little care, it is a viable way to clean. Consider shielding or avoiding certain parts (alternator, radiator, carburetor if so equipped..,) from high pressure water. Use wide angle tips as 5030 mentioned. Turn down the pressure. (If...

Hot water/Dawn/brush/garden hose rinse might do the trick. Slow. Garden hose in the sun will not yield much volume. Consider feeding the garden hose and/or pressure washer with your domestic hot water. No where as hot as a hot water pressure washer, but better than cold!

Weigh Safe makes nice hitches. Easy to check tongue weight. Many models are aluminum...easier for me to lift. Definitely match shank size to receiver...the adaptors are a real compromise.

I used front only chains on a John Deere 110TLB for close to 20 years. Worked fine. Use the least aggressive ladder chains you can find. And be GENTLE!!!! The front driveline was not built to do this.The added front traction can damage the tractor.

I also do this. It works REALLY well. I load my tractor "backwards" whenever possible. It prevents the hood and doors from being damaged if they are not latched correctly. Some of the glass cab doors are crazy expensive.

I am totally unaware of a SAFE way to connect a generator to a house without a transfer switch in the house. Back feeding, such connecting the generator output to an outlet in the house, provides no interlock to prevent a disaster, such as killing someone.

15K is some fast idle! I'm not so sure the long idle times are doing any good. I would not idle a DPF equipped diesel anywhere near the times you mentioned. Many use a liberal amount of additives. A trusted diesel tech told me that several diesel training schools are recommending NOT to do...

It sounds like the engine is now running rich. If the smoke is continuous, I'd take a hard look at the newly cleaned injectors, and also verify they were re-installed correctly.

I am a 70 yer old geezer complete with spinal stannous. I use a Stihl 800 C-E that includes a backpack pad, a hip belt and a chest strap. I can wear it for a full tank of fuel. I suspect the pad and straps are the reason I can use it.

My tractor and mini excavator both are insured with "personal articles" policies. Priced about the same as a car of like value.

It is...with a few caveats. The hydraulic blower adds a pump and 1 or more hydraulic motors to the equation...so it burns up a bit more power/fuel. Running 3/4" hydraulic lines from the pto pump to the loader mounted blower is a bit of a PITA. And lastly, co$t. On the plus side is excellent...

I use a hydraulic powered SS blower mounted the cab tractor's loader. Hydraulic power is from a 21 gpm pto pump and a 3ph mounted reservoir. I absolutely love the heated cab and the front mounted blower. Excellent visibility from the warm, comfy cab. :)

That works for me also. I've read how difficult the pull start is with the unit on the ground. That's NOT my experience...the pull start works great on my back or on the ground.

WoolWax is available in several viscosities.

I gave up on undercoating. The stuff partially pulls away from the steel and become a home for rust. Instead, I have used Krown and other brands of wool wax-based rust proofing. Re-apply yearly. Works very well in upstate New York with harsh winters and sand/salt/whatever roads.

I think it is correct to say that belt driven pump pressure washers are ok drawing from a zero pressure source. Belt driven pumps turn slower than direct drive pumps and are less likely to cavitate.

I lube my backhoe at the same backhoe operating hours as the loader operating hours. Backhoes are similar to excavators...they like grease! If used extensively, a contractor may lube daily!

NPTF are designed to be installed dry...assuming both mates are indeed NPTF and in like new condition. Otherwise, I've been known to use Teflon tape or PTF...or both simultaneously. Some of the hydraulic suppliers sell a sealant they claim to be extremely good. I haven't tried any of it yet.

I may not be far behind you. Although, I really like to be able to feel the resistance in the hand pump and the ability to s-l-o-w-l-y feed grease in certain applications such as "bearing buddies".

I have several of these. REALLY a nice grease gun. It's even easy to bleed the few times there has been trapped air in it. :) Don't forget the LocknLube couplers...they are great!

I have a 9K and a 15K 4-post lifts with rolling jacks. For this retired geezer with the typical age related aches and pains, these lifts work GREAT for me.

I am one of the happy X-Boom campers. I suspect you are correct. The tool does indeed appear to be a standard clamp with custom jaws. And yep, at a premium price, The "custom" aspect is what makes for the ability to charge the premium.

Between built up pressure in the lines, less than perfectly smooth/clean mating surfaces, and arthritis in my hands I was really struggling with couplers (Ag and Flat Face). This tool has really helped me. It's a bit bulky, but man does it work...

They are about $2000 as a JD option when ordering a tractor. At least a year ago, JD did not sell the tires as a part. Buying outright they were $4000 plus for a set IIRC. They use ag wheels, so converting from R4 would be even more money.

I'd guess this dampener is supposed to be full of hydraulic fluid and work with a hole in the piston to control motion. If that is the case, if there are no signs of an external leak then I would suspect the piston seals are bad.

It looks like the implement was allowed to move side to side beating up the tractor. Was a pin inserted into the the stabilizer links (anti sway) on each side? (The pin locks the 2 sliding stabilizer parts together so they become essentially rigid.)
