You Know You Are Old When

That internal strainer is actually a flash arrester, got a new 5 gallon diesel can from TSC a few years ago. The flash arrester made it almost impossible to fill without spilling diesel fuel. Had to work at prying that out, it was made to be hard to remove. After adding a vent it works great...

Anybody know anything about calcium batteries? My tractor came with one, I've had it now a bit over 10 years now and it is still going strong. Water Well Drilling Rotary or Pounder

Around my neighborhood the soils are deep glacial till with layers of impermeable hardpan. Lots of huge boulders are buried in it. 1.5 acres. Am I nuts for thinking about a tractor?

Pallet forks on that size tractor for that size load can't be clamp on to bucket type. They put the load out way too far from the pins. Clamp on work fine for moving brush piles and light loads. Heavy stuff can damage your bucket.

Small reliable (low maintenance) irrigation system from pond?

Theoretically you can lift water 33.9 feet at sea level. Your pump would need to pull a perfect vacuum to do so. Would also need a strong pipe to avoid collapsing it. Much better to put the pump at the bottom and push the water uphill.

Make a rainy well next to the pond. Dig a hole about 5-6' deep next to the pond put a 2'-3' perforated pipe vertically in the hole. Backfill around it with gravel.
