    Welding backer inside house

All good respected questions. So I’m waiting for hvac and electrical to be completed so I can cut my 1/4” sheets as needed. I’ve about decided to just go 2x 1/2” durock and 1x 5/8 Sheetrock then stud. This way no worry of extreme heat through to Sheetrock or stud and this should give very...

All the welding will be done inside the steel room. No exterior side of the welding will be done. So long story short we got hit by Helene and it’s really just thrown everything sideways. From trying to get our current house live able I haven’t had time to weld the room up before framing...

    Welding backer inside house

I’m going to be welding up 1/4” plate in the room of our house. House is under construction and bare cement floors. My question is, what is the best thing to use against the walls between the 1/4” plate and wood stud walls for one prevention of fire welding on the plate against the studs, two...

    Workmaster versus Powerstar

You can actually adjust the loader control by lifting the boot and loosening an Allen screw. But I agree I hated how they had it from factory. I had them adjust mine before I would purchase and it’s 10x better.

It is a repair from heavy equipment breaking it off originally ground level a few months ago on an old woods road on the property that connects to an old county road. Stick welding rail road metal

Rail was already cut. And I welded on both top (where a car rail wheel rides) and the bottom flat that sits on the cross ties. The weld that showed hairline cracks in the weld was one of the welds on the bottom flat where the track would sit on the cross ties. All the others seem fine

    Stick welding rail road metal

It’s a gate post a metal gate hangs off of. Nothing that will have a lot of stress. Will it be fine with just the single pass of 6011 or does it need the 7018 cover pass? Weld joints were Fillet and Lap joints. The one and first lap joint was the only one I had an issue with.

Welding mild steel to rail road track. Asked a friend and he told me just turn up the amps some and weld it. I know the rail track is a high carbon but he said I shouldn’t have a problem without a pre heat. I was using 5/32 6011 to hopefully run just single passes and unless it’s structural I...
