What is your favorite snow removal lawn/garden tractor?

After looking at snow blowers and ruling out the Kubota 4x4 because of the angle of our road. We have decided to buy a 72" blade attachment for the Polaris Ranger 900xp. The people on the Ranger forum seem to have good luck and the return on investment makes it a good option. Time will tell...

Ever wish you had more snow?

I double fisted two leaf blowers to clean a single rut for about a 1/3 of a mile today. This is so I can get the jeep to and from the house. Otherwise, we have to park at the gate and walk. Also we have to use a wheelbarrow to get wood. The road is so treacherous that even wet, it's unsafe...

    Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Who's ready for winter 13/14 ?

I find that map interesting that the Texas / OK region being "Unusually Wet" and just north of that having "Normal Snowfall". This year has been unusually wet . So I'm expecting heavy snowfall. I'm closer each day to being ready. My jeep is always ready to pull the dimwits out of the...

Honeybees' ability to find flowers could be hampered by a chemical in diesel exhaust

I wonder if these are any of the scientists used by the UN and/or Al Gore? actually; I have two hives and my tractor does not seem to bother them at all. The detail of the study may be interesting. Like are they pumping exhaust into a hive? Also the ppm of exhaust in the air recorded. I...

Hello neighbor, Like Gordon, I went the Add-a-Grapple route. My total cost was about $1400 (self installed). Here is a photo of mine, (moving some hedge logs and a bridge railroad tie)... It's one of the best investments ever.

The deck overlooks the river, which is muddy because it is up from the rain in the first photo. Then a aerial view of a portion of the terrain, which can be treacherous. Then my road that winds along the river on a snow day. Last is my new firewood locations, and the dogs of course.

13 fall food plot whitetail institute ??

Whitetail Institute has some good products but they are expensive "IMO". My local feed store does a mix that consists of large leaf clover, turnips, chicory, and rye grass. I pay about $3.65 a pound for it. It's been a good season for acorns, and I suspect the deer are taking advantage of...

    Quick Hitch acquisition $85

All of my implements (except the grapple), I have bought used. Hopefully this was a good deal, it's a quick hitch. Paid $85, and hope it will be good for those heavy 3 point implements. Bought from an "old timer", who told me it's a back saver. What do you think?

    Power Beyond on Kubota L3200

Well the spool valve (above) was the wrong one, J_J enlightened me on the type I needed. Kenmac gave me this link in another thread; " https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.a...name=hydraulic " Meanwhile I made a mount; Have one hose with a bad crimp that leaks. Also a possible fitting leak...

Let's talk valves for a moment (spool)

Ok, I am looking for some clarification please. I have a prince valve (open center) that has a detent operation. Meaning it stays in one of 3 positions. When it is in the center position, it lets the pressure off the load. I made the assumption that once the cylinder was in position it...

    Automatic Gate; Recommendations needed

I have had it with realtors, and people trying to gain river access. It had not been a problem until one guy just decides he can remove the chain and drive around on my property (twice). I have been thinking about an automatic gate that is 12v powered and solar charged. It's time to pull the...

    Power Beyond on Kubota L3200

Please pardon my hydraulic ignorance  . I have read everything I can find on adding a third function. I am attempting on using an open center spool for a grapple attachment. I know the IN comes from "power beyond" "OUT" can be T'd to the return or tank line. My Kubota L3200, has a...

    Snake Farm...

Here is another black snake I found just this afternoon on the lower deck (screened in). I don't know why it's all contracted like a spring. After I grabbed it, the dang thing stretched out pretty good. It's on 2x6 floor in the pic. Sorry the picture is a bit blurry.

    Snake Farm...

So I have been finding these little guys everywhere, and it's head was not triangular enough for me to think it was a viper. So I left it be, weeks later I find the (second pic) a fellow resting on a ledge. So I take a photo and catch it. Again no yellow tip of tail and no triangular head. So...

It will be morning soon, and since I work a 2nd shift. I normally sleep 2am-9am or there about. Anyhow, we got a good rain in Missouri this morning and today. The river is up, and still rising. It will rise about 8' before it floods the field on the other side (that we like to see). I'm not...

When to put up hummingbird feeders?

We have 4-5 different species of wood peckers. Canaries, Cardinals, Blue Herons, King Fishers, Red Tail Hawks. I see the Horned Owls both day and night. We know the pair of American Bald Eagles are close when all the other birds disappear, and it gets real quiet. Here's a picture of one of...
