Emergency brake lever won't lower all the way...

The brake lever wants to stay up all the time, which causes the beeping noise. Does anyone know if the spring is needed and if not, is it removable? If it could be removed, the lever would stay in the lower position as it should.

What is going on with Mahindra quality?

Or have I just struck gold with a run of bad luck? I posted that my 2005 6500 burned up back last June, and I was looking at a 2021 6065 with only 130 hours and ended up buying it. I have had one thing after another go wrong with it. Several leaks of one kind or another and various parts...

Financing Best rates on used tractors?

If I can use someone else's money for a few months over the summer, I prefer it, if it's reasonable. I'm in the gun business, and sales slow down a little over the summer, so cash flow is lower. However, the manufacturers offer some good deals that are hard to pass up, so I can make more with my...

Comparison 6500 caught on fire... looking at used 5570 or new 6065.

Yep... gonna figure out a spot for a fire extinguisher in the cab model replacement. First thing I plan to do. Probably won't ever need it, but it will be there if I do.

Comparison 6500 caught on fire... looking at used 5570 or new 6065.

We just recently had about 230 tons of crushed stone (I call it slag) laid down on our dirt road (about a mile long). I was smoothing it out with my Duragrader as I've done for the last 18 years, and after about 30 minutes or so, I started smelling burning. There was a lot of gray dust from the...

That's what you pay to borrow your own money.

Comparison 6500 caught on fire... looking at used 5570 or new 6065.

Ended up with the 2021 6065 Cab unit. It has 135 hours (not 120) and 3 years of warranty remaining. $40K out the door... fair enough, I suppose. It already has the front couplers for hydraulics installed, so that saved me about $1500 that I'd had to spend on the other models he had.

6500 4WD is ordered! YAHOOOOOOO! Even lower price!

Indeed... although being all steel it would have been hard to hurt it. I suspect the insurance will try to sell it for salvage. My guess is the engine block is worth something with less than 1,000 hours on it. The wheels are still good, and while the tires are old, they do the job. front end...

Financing Best rates on used tractors?

Yep... a friend I know at Max Credit Union was telling me about that option. I'd rather use someone else's money, but that is no doubt a viable option.

Financing  Best rates on used tractors?

Looking at about $40k on a 2021 model. The local dealer is 5.9% lowest rate for any term... local credit union is about the same. I don't have a banker per se because I don't borrow much. I financed my truck at 0% for 36 months and my wife's car at 1.9% in 2020 for 60 months. I may pay cash for...

6500 4WD is ordered! YAHOOOOOOO! Even lower price!

That is a good idea. I don't know how far gone it was when I noticed it, but it would have saved the bulk of the tractor. I think I will invest in one for the new tractor, knowing what I know now.

6500 4WD is ordered! YAHOOOOOOO! Even lower price!

Thanks for the comments guys. I greived for a few hours until my local Mahindra dealer brought me a used 5075 to use until I can decide on what I want to replace the dead one with, which may be a 2021 6065 Cab model he has with 120 hours on it. A significant upgrade, to say the least... although...

Comparison 6500 caught on fire... looking at used 5570 or new 6065.

He has a 2021 6065 Cab model with 120 hours at 42K with 3 years of warranty remaining. After watching videos... really like the 6065 models with the fuel tank down low, battery on the side, and several other convenient features. I like the cab too, after seeing what it offers.

Comparison  6500 caught on fire... looking at used 5570 or new 6065.

My 2005 6500 caught on fire today, and it's a goner. Paid $22K for that thing back in 2005... still had $15K insurance, thankfully. My Mahindra dealer delivered me a used 2018 5570 with a front-end loader to try out today with 118 hours... quoted me $32K (no warranty). Have not tried to...

    Dura-Grader... a user review...

I finally got the opportunity to try out our Dura-Grader today. This is the industrial model 18 inches high by 5 feet deep by 8 feet wide. It almost covers the width of our driveway. I probably could have better used a 9' model, but I got what I got. I'll try to remember to take some pics...

    Using a torque wrench...

I noticed in the Torque Chart on page 68 of the ML265 FEL that some of those larger bolts require some serious torque... up to 1120 lb. ft. for 1-1/4" grade 5 and even more for grade 8 bolts. The 3/4" bolt requres 270 lb. ft. grade 5 and 380 grade 8. Where do you guys find such a torque...

    Tractor to the rescue today...

It grunted, it huffed and it puffed... AND THEN... it pulled that BIG tri-axle dump truck unstuck. We have water leaking at the end of our septic tank lines where the ground is rather shallow over the of one of the field lines. We decided to have our septic tank pumped after 5 years and to...

    Changing engine oil... Amsoil

The manual recommends changing the engine oil out at 250hrs along with filter. I'm considering going ahead and changing it out to the Amsoil 15W40 now... with less than 10hrs. I don't want to wait 250hrs or a year before I do this... I'd rather have the better oil in there now. The manual...

    Mahindra's lift ratings...

Mahindra\'s lift ratings... Just curious... Why does Mahindra rate their 3pt lift capacity at the lift point instead of 24" behind? Why do they rate the FEL lift capacity at the pivot pins instead of center of bucket? Thanks!

    Comparing JD, Kubota, Mahindra specs...

This is merely for the fun of it and so maybe I can learn more on the specs and to kinda be able to determine which tractor has the most muscle, so to speak. I'm not concerned about reliability because all have their share of problems and they all seem to be mostly reliable. Let's assume that...

Alabama TBN members... where are you?

I saw the Georgia roll call and couldn't find one for Alabama. Very curious to know about the BAMA members. Hopefully you have your profile up to date... I'll check it out! I'm in Luverne... about 45 miles south of Montgomery. Hwy 331 runs through Luverne.

Tires  Anyone spread out their tires on a 6500 4WD?

In my concerns for safety on my hills and slopes, I'm wondering if I should have my dealer spread out my tires on my tractor before it's delivered and how much? According to Mahindra, all four tires can be spread pretty easily... the manual supposedly explains how it's done and how far they can...

Safety tips for first time tractor owner...

I've ordered my new Mahindra 6500 4WD w/ FEL and both front/rear tires water/antifreeze filled. I don't know how much it will weigh in at but I'm guessing at least 8500lbs w/ FEL and at least 7000lbs without FEL... maybe a little more. We have an older Farmall tractor that I've used for...

    Tel-Trax Canopy

Anyone use this canopy on their tractor. I'm considering it installed on my new tractor for $380. It's fiberglass with foam insulation underneath... rather large for good cover. I'm mostly in the open... but when I do go in the woods I'll obviously remove it.

What do you use your FEL for?

I've been tractor shopping and initially I insisted I did not need an FEL. Every dealer I've spoken with (several), I've expressed that I don't want an FEL and don't want to ever know what I'd done without one... as many people claim they don't know how they ever lived without it. Anyway...

Is this price right for a 5500 4WD???

I called a dealer today and he quoted me $16820 out the door on a 5500 4WD. I paying cash and I know there are rebates and cash back incentives, but this sounds like a jam up good price for all you get in a 5500. I think he might even do better on that price if I'll visit his dealership and...
