    2305 won't turn over w/ new battery

Problem history: 2008 JD 2305 on original factory battery. Somehow, it lasted this far. Sometimes it's barely turned it over but once it's turned over at least twice; it's always started. Today: Started digging a hole around 10am. Ran the backhoe about 1800rpm about 2 hrs. Broke for lunch. Came...

    Identify this mystery snowblower

It's been recently repainted and the current owner is a few owners removed from the original buyer. I originally suspected it's a 3 point hitch blower, but it's had a John Deere Quick Hitch frame welded on to allow it to run on the front of a lawn & garden 430. There doesn't appear to be a...

Does anyone know the front PTO speed for a Deere 430?

I'm looking for the speed with standard sized pulleys at full throttle - haven't been able to find it. I'm guessing about 2000-2100 rpm, but I'm guessing. Also - was it different for the gas & diesel models? I'm asking about the 1980's L&G, not the 1950's row crop.

Snow  Can you easily adapt a 59" snowblower to the QH system?

Title says it all - can it be done easily? (No major fabrication or welding...) Reason - the 54" blowers are hard to come by used. I can find a nice used 59" for considerably less than a new 54". Anyone done it? Or anyone even tried?

How far can you extend a PTO shaft?

I just bought a tiller from a guy who had it on BX23. I'm putting it on a JD 2305 and the shaft is too short. Not only would it naturally be too short, I have Pat's easy change - which adds 4 in to the required length. The local TSC sells 3in and 4in PTO extensions. I would probably need two...

Spreader  Baltimatic (B-80) spreader won't turn

Hi all, I'm looking at a used Baltimatic spreader to buy. While turn the spreading plate (the flat plate outside of the hopper) by hand to make sure it was free, I felt a bump or hitch in the rotation. I kept turning it to try and discover the problem and suddenly it stopped turning. It feels...

2305 Wheel spacers - how many and how thick

I've read a lot that putting the x series wheel spacers on the rears does a lot to help with stability. My questions: Would putting them on the front also help? Would using the Bro-Tek spacers (2" vs JD's 1") be a better idea or is that too much on the axle? Maybe 1" on the front and 2" on...

Anyone know the actual 2305 rear axle capacity

If you go by the official numbers, the 2305 has a rear axle capacity of 1477 lbs. It may be the only SCUT in the world with a weaker rear axle than front axle. If you use the Deere ballast calculator, the rear axle is carrying 1739 lbs with a 200cx loader, operator, and 260 backhoe - a...
