    Proud new owner of a '48 B

Brought this beauty home this weekend after my uncle gave it to me. He planned to leave it to me when he died, but he decided to go ahead and let me have it so he could enjoy watching me enjoy it. I spent a few hours with a gallon of degreaser and the pressure washer and got a little shine...

    Made some great barn poles

I'm adding on to my old pole barn. I already have all the materials except the poles. All options were looking expensive. Modern day treated lumber is pathetic and expensive, so I really didn't want to go that route. Metal poles were a thought, but also expensive. I started thinking about...

Am i the only one who loves woodworking?

Late night in the shop, but the outcome is a couple of new solid oak end tables for my wife. Sanding, staining and clearing will wait a day or two. This wood in particular is white oak I cut, milled, dried, and planed myself. Talk about gratifying. Heavy solid oak is hard to beat, especially...

Adding FEL -- How to hydraulics hook up?

I'm seriously shopping for an aftermarket FEL for my Deere 670. The tractor has never had a FEL. I am about to start a major addition to our house, and the FEL will have many uses. My question is -- How/where do the hydraulics hook up? My tractor produces 2050psi and 5.5gpm. The hydraulics...

Daughter on tractor = trust test

Would you trust your 12 year old daughter on your rig? I do. Everybody loves a country girl who can drive a tractor. We have to chase all the boys off...

What are YOU doing this weekend?

I'm traveling 300 miles with my wife and 3 daughters to the deer lease for work, relaxation, and a family reunion. More work than anything else... It's called LABOR day, right!? :)

    New Trailer Ramps

Someone stole my trailer ramps last week. They were the kind the slide under the side of the trailer on the right side. They were built with 2 or 2.5" angle, 3/16 thickness. I had been wanting some beefier ones anyway, but now this is forcing me to build a set. I currently have to back the...

How do you chain down YOUR tractor?

I have to haul my tractor pretty often to maintain my inlaws' place and others. I have never really liked any of the options for chaining it down. I would like to stay off the lift arms and bars, but there are just almost no options to attach to the tractor frame. I picked up some 3/8" steel...

    STUCK in sh... stuff.

So I was brush hogging at the in-laws yesterday evening. The ground was a little spongy, but not too bad. The wide turf tires on the tractor give a big footprint. I mowed for an hour with no issues whatsoever. Then...It happened... I found a (hidden) broken sewer pipe. And the tractor...

    STOLEN Kubota 9960

    This brand new rig was stolen this weekend from the side of I-30 outside Texarkana, TX. It's not mine and I have no relation, but the owner lives in the area. It was his highway mower rig. Keep your eyes peeled for one, especially with a broken window. NSRect: {{4, 181}, {83, 79}}

    1994 was a Green year

There's been a couple of nice 1994 tractors shown off here lately. I figured I'd brag on my 94 670. It's not the biggest tractor in town, but it's the greenest. Never seen a tractor more dependable. In 700 hours, absolutely not 1 malfunction or repair besides fluid changes and such.

    How dangerous is YOUR PTO?

Let's have a show of hands who keeps a plastic sleeve around your PTO shaft at all times. The one on my shredder is toast and I have major heartburn with the $149 price tag TSC has on a new one. (it's just a plastic sleeve!) I KNOW how dangerous a PTO shaft can be. I have heard/read of...

    Those DARN lynch pins

Last night, just as I was finishing brush hogging a 5 acre field, i discovered that a lynch pin worked it's way out. Unfortunately, I discovered it the hard way -- and it involved lots of racket. I was about cross a ditch, so I pulled up the 3pt. When I did this the main top link pin worked...

    Lights

Need to add some extra lights to my tractor for nighttime/evening work. The sky's the limit for light choices... What are your favorites? Not wanting to spend a ton. Anyone mount them to the ROPS? Seems like the bug swarm may be bad if the lights are up there.

    Greetings from SW Arkansas

Hi all! I have referenced this site many times for questions/answers -- I decided it was time to sign up. Most of my tractor use is mowing, but it's a lot of it! Looking forward to learning/sharing more with you guys.
