    20 inch chainsaw recommendation

Get a 60 or 70 cc professional model. Doesn’t really matter what brand of the big 3. I like the Huskies the best but have an Echo. All are pretty good. Pro model will be built better and lighter.

    F Series vs. ZD

Personally, I would get a Grasshopper 700 or 900 series (they come with Kubota diesel), and are both front mount machines. Lots of front mounted accessories for these also. Here is a YouTube video on a 900D (which is probably more machine than you need, I’d start with looking at a 700D).

    BCS branded wood splitter?

Take a look at a Splitfire. The Wallenstein is a copy off the Splitfire. Splitfire is another Canadian made splitter and they have been doing it well for 40 years. Many Splitfire models to choose from but the 2265 is a great all around splitter and one of their lower cost splitters.

I had been looking at log splitters for awhile now. 3pt Wood Chipper Recommendation

I have been looking at the Splitfire myself. I know some people don’t like the vertical infeed system and lack of hydraulics, but from what I see it doesn’t need a hydraulic feed. It is rated for 4”, but has a very large infeed opening so it can handle larger material or crooked wood. It also...

So, Beowulf, did you ever decide on a new log splitter? The new log splitter bug has hit me with a vengeance. Really liking the looks of Wolfe Ridge splitters. Maybe a 28 pro model. Eastonmade Ultra looks really nice as well. Both are overkill for my needs, but I believe I want a quality...

One other thing to check out would be YouTube. I would suggest looking up Tractor time with Tim. He mostly uses a small 1025r Deere for most work (not all though), so you could get a good idea what you can do. The 1025r is quite capable for a small machine.

LOL. Yes the Husqvarna you list costs double what the 590 does, and the stihl cost triple. They better cut circles around the 590. I know you said best not best value. However, cost does come into play especially for acreage owners that maintain property but don’t cut trees for a living. The...

Oh, I know these saw have there own personality. I am sure there are some great MS 250’s out there. Mine, not so much. Now I love the 590 Echo. It cuts so nice. The Ego isn’t as good a cutter, but so convenient to just grab and go. It’s also quiet 99% of the time, unless you are actually...

No need to get 5’ implements for your use on 3.8 acres. 4 foot would be plenty. From what you describe, the subcompacts like the BX Kubota and 1025 Deere would be more than adequate. You could bump up to a slightly taller machine like the B or 2025, but not really necessary. You mention...

If it will be a mower primarily, I think it sounds just fine, unless you wanted a ditch bank flail mower that needs rear remotes. Economy models are fine, and you can still get remotes and such added using products from companies like WR Long. Shuttle, no problem with mowing, many prefer it.

That looks perfect for a flail mower with hammer blades. Wouldn’t want to try mowing with a rotary cutter in that tight an area. The rotary and especially a 6’ adds a lot of length to a tractor. Flail keeps it in tight. In fact, if you have 10+ acres of that, I see you going back to the...

Does Anyone Make A Good Quality Sprinkler Anymore?

Yeah, they aren’t that heavy. But the felt heavy as a kid, and really heavy when they were full of water that needed to be drained. That was the daily work out at my Dads and Uncles ranch/farm. Moved those pipes every summer, every day for most of my growing up years.

I mostly use Rainbird impulse sprinklers. I spent a lot of time growing up moving irrigation pipe, and while I never want to move pipe again, I love the sound of an impulse sprinkler. A.M. Leaonard stocks some decent quality irrigation items. They have a dram oscillating sprinkler that looks...
