A bit of light wet snow this morning, warming up to about 40 today. Sadly one of the boats fishing for herring capsized overnight, four of the crew were rescued but one crew member that was in the engine room went down with the boat. Happened about 20 miles up the coast from us.

Nice day yesterday, though a bit cool. Looks like another good one today with a high of around 40. Managed to go around the corner to the next street that is water front and got a picture of Chrome lighthouse with a fishing trawler catching herring. After going to the gym will spent a good part...

About one inch of snow that is melting fast. See the herring fleet is off shore, should be fishing for about one week. Going to go around the corner and see if I can get a picture of a fishing boat and Chrome lighthouse in the background.

Frosty this morning but nice to have the sun shinning in a blue sky. Still a bit of snow on the ground as it will only warm up to about 38-40 today. I can hear the sea lions barking, herring are on their way.

Still dark out but we did get a couple of more inches of snow overnight, should get to 45 today so hope most of it melts today.

Snow is almost gone, rain today with a high of 7 C.

Some of our snow has melted, down to about 6-8 inches on the ground. Sunny and a high of 10C today should help the melt. Tomorrow night they are forecasting a rain storm with up to 4-5 inches of rain over a 3 day period.

For the past few years we have had long drought like summers. Had fir trees die that were over 100 years old. But boy did we end up milling some gorgeous lumber out of the four trees we took down. Lots of snow on the hills and mountains, so yes great for this coming summer.

Got a line on a local guy with a big snowblower who will do it for reasonable $. We have not had much snow here for at least 5 years so no need to shovel, plow or snowblow in that time. Good chance it will be a few years before we get this much snow again. There is a town called Campbell River...

I was doing a lot of huffing and puffing, had two helpers; snow was wet so pretty heavy. Another storm coning in Wednesday late afternoon, supposed to start as snow and then turn to heavy rain. We haven't had this much snow for a few years, what the heck happened to global warming?

We sold the farm about a year ago, but still like my tractor by net groups. Living on 1/2 acre now.

Good morning here, it stop snowing for awhile. Looks like another snow storm, later turning to heavy rain, coming in Wednesday evening. Did manage to shovel out my 200 plus foot driveway, had about 18-20 inches of heavy snow to move.

Got another 8 inches of snow over night in addition to the four we got yesterday and still getting flurries.

Cooler today, it's calling for a high of 25C/77F, yesterday it got up to 29C/84.2F. Lots of sun so the suntan lotion has been well used. The pump in the creek is on 24 hours a day, seems once we have a couple of dry weeks the ground just dries right up.

Got to 28.7C /83.6F yesterday. Today looks to be about the same temps with lots of sun. Interesting that we did not put on our heat pump for air conditioning. Last summer we had 3 Whirly Birds put on our roof to provide more air ventilation from the attic. Sure seems to make a big difference.

The alder trees out here are already sending their pollen out, means pills for the next 3-4 weeks.

This is only about a quarter of the rounds I will end up hauling to the splitting area. I have orders for 7 cords of wood. It is all fir. This will be the most and likely the last firewood I will sell, don't want to cut down too many trees. The money is going to help finance my trip to Germany...

Getting a bit of a break from the heavy rain yesterday and overnight, to be continued this afternoon and overnight, mild with a high of 12C/54F.

After having a few days of rain it was nice to wake up to a clear day, blue sky and Sun. Started frosty but warming up nicely to about 11C/52F. Moved the 3 calves :cow: from the barn to the front pasture, all I did was wave their bottles and they followed me like little puppy dogs. They didn't...

On rather late today, it;s 4PM our time out here on the pacific coast. It may be a good thing I'm late as the rain has stopped and there is sunshine. High around 11C/51F. After many hours of searching on the internet over the past few months I finally found some long lost cousins in Europe...

6 inches of rain :umbrella-guy: expected on the West side of the island, glad we are on the East side and may only get 1-2 inches over the next day or so. Highs around 7C/43F. Don't think I will be doing much outside for the next couple of days.

Rain today and a wind warning for this afternoon. High of 7C/44.6F. Had the tractor out yesterday and moved the tree that knocked out our hydro on Friday, decent sized Hemlock that had root rot, will make some decent firewood.

Had a strong wind :windy: storm yesterday afternoon, most have been 50mph gusts. Lost power when a tree took down the hydro lines just outside our drive way. Had some showers with snow and hail. Little better looking weather for today, mix of sun/cloud and a high of 8C/46.6F

Cloudy with some clear breaks and a high of 9C/48F. We are getting another goat today, she is the mother of one we got about 3 weeks ago. Brings our little herd up to 4. Our 2 oldest goats that we sold a few weeks ago are at a great pet home and they pretty much have it made.

Got to 10C/50F this afternoon with some sun and another day with mosquitoes, :eek: got bit by one of the suckers. Had the first one's out on Feb 3rd , sure hope it's not going to be long year with them.

Holy Cow, it's a boy. :cow: So I'm farm sitting for my neighbour who's in Puerto Rico for 2 weeks. She had asked at Christmas if I would look after her animals for her. About 2 weeks before she leaves she mentioned that one of the cows was pregnant but shouldn't calve until she got back. Well...
