Great find and nice presentation. It's really nice when you start digging and expect to find it broken,But it's all in one piece after all these years!

The L12 hyd ext tube is 41 mm x 190 mm, as near as I can tell. I check the AGT website daily, and I will post here when they are available again.

The only thing that would happen on mine is, the hour meter would keep running. Did you forget to heat the glowplugs before you tried to start it?

I don't think there will be any problems with using it. It's possible that the 30 nd, is what was recommended for the Case.

You may want to consider adding the filter. Most of the hydraulic components are pretty pricey. Some are hard to locate replacements for, and some are in places that only a 4 year old can get to..

They probably try to make one tank style fit several different models. The port can't be too near the bottom because the strainer has to screw in the port. If the strainer is 3" in diameter, then the port would need to be about 1-3/4" above the bottom.

Dump trailers sit up pretty high. ramps were probably steeper than I would want to try. Unless maybe your ramps are 8-10 ft long.

The pump supply line enters the hyd tank very low on the rear side. When going downhill, the fluid in the tank moves forward enough to allow the pump to pull air. The extension will move the inlet very close to the center of the tank. The tank is approximately 12x24" and lays horizontally...

The videos show the hydraulic oil and filter (strainer) change, but it also shows how the extension tube is used, as it comes off when he removes the strainer. Probably not much of a video, unless you have an L12.

The end of the suction strainer is threaded and screwed onto the fitting in the tank. Remove the strainer, screw on the extension to the fitting in the tank. screw the strainer onto the ext. The extension has male threads on one end and female threads on other.

I ordered this hydraulic ext tube on March 2 from AGT. It was in the mailbox today March 6. I can finally get the hydraulic oil changed, and install my filter.

I don't want to own one, But I am curious how they work. Looks like the only difference is battery size and an electric motor instead of gas or diesel.

Both are certainly possible. I suspect the mesh is the likely culprit. I have considered removing the swing motor and enlarging the mounting holes so there would be a little adjustment possible. Then push the motor a little closer to the ring gear to remove the slack. As the weather here...

Could you turn camera on and slide it under the digger and then wiggle the house? Or use a selfie-stick? I would be impressed if the hoses allowed the movement we see. Very interesting, must be a recessed bolt in there. Or a set screw up above the gear?

The B6100 is a workhorse. 2300 hrs on mine. still going strong.

Thats about the same amount of play I have. I would like to know where the play is coming from. Maybe the drive gear could be moved closer to the ring gear? Or maybe its in the keyway between the motor shaft and gear? Hopefully the cushion valve will substantially lower the chance of damage...

An uncovered well is pretty dangerous. I immediately went and got a piece of 3/4" treated plywood and covered it. Its only about 100' from the old haunted barn. I know there is an old,old house foundation there hiding somewhere. I was looking for the old house when I found the well.

I have been looking for an 8" bucket and I just ordered one from AGT. I was on their website looking for the hydraulic pickup tube extension. Out of stock on the ext, but I found this bucket for $165 tax and delivery included. seemed like a great deal. Will let you know when I get it.

Something that I think has helped me NOT lose a track is Listening. I have noticed on a few occasions when turning or after digging and tracking out of area, I hear a sharp clicking from one of the tracks. I immediately stop and use bucket to lift tracks and rotate track backward and forward...

Didn't know about an auto hydraulic tensioner. I will have to learn about that. I have always had grease tensioners and never had an issue with them, Except in very cold temps. (y)

Sounds like a fun little car to drive occasionally. I think there are a few issues with carbon in the gdi engines, but it sounds like you are on top of it.

That 6.0 was a workhorse. It will be interesting to see how the EcoBoost will hold up.

Well, I tried to invite Paul to our site through U-tube comments. I mentioned how impressed we are with his skills and extended the invitation. My comment was up for a few seconds and then it was gone. :unsure: Maybe they dont allow that on U-tube. I will try again later and be more discreet.

Once you use an extended cab, it would be hard to give up the extra room for tools, boots, people. I also wouldn't want less than 6-1/2' bed. The old truck I have is perfect for me.

Yea, I dont expect to have something that will chew up 1" stuff. Realistically, if it will cut 1/4 or maybe 1/2", I will be happy. Then I can get in there and cut the base out with a small battery chainsaw or equivalent, at a later date.

If you need to remove hydraulic lines from the stack valve, you may need a 17mm crows foot. I had to buy the entire set just to get the 17. really helped to get the lines off.

Hang the key up for 2 weeks and don't use the machine. make a note of how many times you wanted to use it during that time. If you didn't want to use it at least once, sell it. We are getting close to spring, and you may find you can sell it easily.

Another dry, sunny day. Cut a few trees off the trails and hauled more dirt.

One thing I know for sure is that I use mine a lot more than I thought I would. I would definitely replace it if something happened to it.

58* today so I hauled more dirt and gravel.

It got up to 58* today.. More digging-- 27 hours now. My only complaint is the dirt sticking to the inside of bucket around the tooth bolts. Going to remove them and see if that helps.

After 13 loads the trail is now open. :)

After 6 loads, I can see it will take a lot more dirt. These Gators are amazing machines. over 2400 hrs and more than 21,000 miles. Still going strong.

This large culvert was clogged and washed out. Trail was impassible, even by foot, for seven years.

Last load for the day #13. Trail is now open after 7 years closed. I never would have attempted this job without the Baby-Digger.

Almost 26 hours and still working better than it should. Thats 26 hours on the L12 not the Gator, it has over 2400 hours and over 21,000 miles on it. Quite impressive.

This 36" culvert was blocked and had washed out years ago. The Baby Digger, the Baby-Bota and I went to work cleaning it out and filling in the huge holes. Those are roots on top. 6 loads dumped so far.

Another nice day, so went to work on the culvert repair.

Anytime you can get some of the toys out and go to work, I call that a GREAT day..

I believe it's called a distribution valve by some. It looks similar to a hydraulic motor, like the swing motor, but it has 4-6 hydraulic lines. I haven't seen inside one but I think a very smart person had to be involved in the engineering. I think there are 2 halves and lines going in the top...

I would consider the DJ14,. not sure if the boom cylinder on top will reduce lifting ability enough to be a concern? Nice looking machine with several improvements over other models. And the engine exhaust goes thru a hole in the counterweight!

Glad you were not hurt. Sometimes the ground feels like concrete at those temps when you land. Maybe the snow softened the impact. Did you buy a baby-X yet??

It was about 33f. snow was starting to melt. everything sounded fine on startup. completely normal. I will try mine on the next cold spell and see how it does. I am sure that we will get more temps down in single digits like we had a few days ago.

I think I will put a drain tube on the Briggs. There is only a small hole about 2 inches square on the 12 mm plate. My oi[ changes make a huge mess that I have to continually wipe off the oil for days. My first new machine, so I really like working on something without old nasty grease, oil...

I don't think I would use it before verifying where the debris came from. I would take the time, while the machine is down, to drain the fluid and inspect the tank for metal fragments. Also check the pickup tube in tank for a suction filter or screen. should be something to catch the big chunks...

I hope I never need a swing motor. Been looking over an hour and can't find a listing for the BM2-351.. closest I found was BM1-315. I will keep trying.

I also tried to install the muffler heat shield but my razor knife wouldn't cut it. Surprised me the material was not cheap thin junk. will take tin snips when I go back.

My AGT L12 uses an Eaton motor. Hopefully you can read the numbers. Sorry for the poor pic. Hope this helps.

My L12 has an Eaton swing motor made in Ohio. it may be easier to get and should be the same as yours. My L12 is made by AGT like yours is. Lookng for a pic or # now.

Warmed up a little, so I got out and cleared some trails. We got the Gator 2 months ago with 2400 hrs and it has impressed me. First time in the snow for the L12. Both machines did great.

Not long ago, on the AGT website, the Briggs XR engine was listed for $4000.!! I looked again a week later, same price, now its marked down to $1500.

I use wix filters on my Kubota last oil filter was $11. I can get the briggs parts real cheap.. thats why I was happy to see the Briggs on the cheap diggers.

Its good that parts are becoming more available. Unfortunately I cant afford any of them. $75 for the Briggs air filter. $125 for the diesel fuel filter. I sure dont want to break anything now. I am gonna Baby my Baby Digger. :)
