    Sausage stuffer recs please

You are correct about Kitchen Aid grinders...they are horrible stuffers, just short of worthless. The premier piston stuffer is by F Dick (yeah, ironic) and they are great but expensive. Hakka makes one that's sold on Amazon that is cheaper but still pretty good. Mine is a hand crank 5 pound...

    Sausage casing help please

Collagen casings are not great for heat and eat sausages. While there is a gross association with gut casings, collagen is just as gross. Boiled cow skin to extract collagen, then extrusion and drying of the tube. For edible casing, I'll take the gut variety.

    Black oil

Diesel motor oil is always black. When I was an auto mechanic most of the clients had gas engines and I hated doing diesel oil changes because it made my hands uncleanable. That was before all the youtube mechanics started wearing gloves like surgeons to work on cars... :)

    Farm UTV/RTV Purchase

Another vote for a Kawasaki Mule F=Oro-FXXT. My wife bought a used one and it is her favorite vehicle. It flies - I think it goes 45 MPH - and can hit a standard curb at 20MPH and just absorb it. We have rough pastures and dont even lift off the gas. It has two bench seats and can fit 6...

Making switch from Green to Orange

MX5400 of mine was best reversed by lifting the front of the treadle with my toes. My heel was too innacurate.

Buying Advice Is it possible to go too big?

I sold an open station MX 5400 and purchased an M4-071 cab because I have an acute problem with ragweed. I do a lot of mowing, boxblading and grappling of cut mesquite. The MX was a hydrostatic trans and was as precise as a scalpel to operate. it was also very easy to hop on and off. It was...

    Super udt2 price shocker

Amazon is full of re-sellers that buy the stuff at a dealer and try to flip it on Amazon. They are not often successful, but they prey on people that either dont check any other source, or are mis-lead and assume that they will get 2.5gl. As long as a re-seller sells the stuff for more than...

If you live in California, stock up on parts. . .

Nice try with the "don't you care about your kids?" angle. I'd be more than happy to talk life cycle analysis of electric vs petro, or the impact of these mandates on the economy with you. But in your sensitive emotional state it will not be possible. The first step towards rediscovery of...

If you live in California, stock up on parts. . .

California is out of control. I am getting tired of the increasing perception that electric powered stuff is better for the environment than petro-powered. The environment includes more than the air, but this coven of "leaders" wants you to believe that the electricity is emissions-free and...

    Craig's List

I sold a camera as having "about 7500 shutter activations." The lifetime of the shutter is 150,000 activations, so it was essentially unused. When the buyer got the camera he hounded me for an explanation why there were 7865 activations. I ended up telling him that he got an almost new camera...

    Negotiating for a new tractor?

Pre-pandemic Kubota dealers were giving decent discounts off MSRP and the common wisdom was negotiate to 80% of MSRP. That made the 20% equine discount a poor choice as it did not really have any advantage over haggling the price down. Now, the dealers are not budging off of MSRP which makes...
