Ok same problem but at least a stone puncture that had to be replugged sounds a little less bad than 3 separate punctures.

    Who rides motorcycles?

I picked up this 2014 Moto Guzzi California 1400 Custom last week. It seems to be in pretty nice condition with 3,400 miles and included the factory windshield, color matched bags, and seat grab rail. Original tires have plenty of tread but being 9 years old I ordered a new pair which just...

Thank you blacktruck. Get one, at $13K new including luggage, cruise, tubeless wheels (2021+) shaft drive, etc. they're a pretty good value. I have other motorcycles but this one just seems to be the one I ride most of the time.

    Who rides motorcycles?

I left last Thursday for the VA Moto Guzzi rally at Willville on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Packed and ready to go. Taking a break at an overlook on the BRP. The rally. It was a nice ride down through WV to get there and back, and riding around on little VA roads Friday and Saturday was a blast.

    Who rides motorcycles?

BMW's R series Roadsters are fun, standard motorcycles. It would be hard for me to turn down a clean 2010-12, Camhead R1200R to go along with my R100R.

    Who rides motorcycles?

I'm not arguing with you because my Road King has stock slip-ons and I feel loud bikes are annoying as well, but let's crack down on all loud noises. We hear the same loud motorcycles and trucks when sitting on my partner's front stoop in town. But even worse are the mowers and leaf blowers all...

Well used X 500 Impulse buy

I wonder too but looking at the OP's picture where it's cracked I'm not sure? Anyway I now, as you suggested, lift carefully from the lower sides at the rear of the hood to open it on my X500. Gotta be gentle with these plastic hoods JD uses :) I also picked mine up used, last year, with 97...

Well used X 500 Impulse buy

I don't think you disagree with what I said at all, you just (rightly so) feel a heavy fabricated deck is stronger than a thin stamped one. However I would certainly find a smooth, rounded, one piece, 7 gauge steel deck preferable to a 7 gauge deck made from pieces welded together.
  12. Milo

Well used X 500 Impulse buy

Stamping a deck out of heavy gauge steel requires a very large, heavy duty press, which most small mower manufacturers don't invest in so they simply weld them up. A welded together deck certainly doesn't mean it's better.

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

On SxS's that utilize a locking rear diff, some refer to the open or unlocked setting as "Turf mode" because it's gentle on your yard. The only times my P520 has lacked enough traction were once when high centered, and once in a deep snow drift, the only thing that would have helped would be...

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

Where it mentions: ...Automotive-style automatic transmission with hydraulic torque converter, three forward gears and Reverse. Three drive modes include 2WD, 4WD and 4WD with Differential lock. AT/MT modes with paddle shifting on the deluxe models.... ? It is confusing but I was told: 2WD =...

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

I've owned a small Mule 610 for 8 years, Polaris Ranger 500 3 years, and now a Mule Pro MX 3 years, and none of them ever needed belt replacement, or adjustment. I did need to adjust the P520's clutch after 40 hours or so but it only took 20 minutes. Yes the small Mules have selectable locking...

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

I believe the P700 has more of an automotive 3 speed transmission that can be paddle shifted, the 500/520 of course use more of an auto-clutch, manual transmission, with the option of the machine shifting gears for you (auto mode) or manual mode where you paddle shift it. Honda's P1000 uses a...

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

Yes very effective engine braking. (Un?)fortunately the 520 does not even have a differential so the rear is always "locked", like most ATV's. This gives it great traction but makes it harder to steer and can skid up the terrain that it does sharp turns on. The front is an open differential. My...

Comparison Has anyone compared 1025 and 2380 recently?

That's the point, a B2601 is about the same price as the Deere 1025R yet much more capable (ground clearance, 3 range hydro, lift, etc.) Or a BX is lower price and slightly less capable than a 1025R.

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

I felt the same after getting my first SxS years ago and therefore have had one ever since. I use it almost every day for any variety of tasks. And for just riding trails or down the road to visit neighbor sometimes it's nice being able to take someone along, beside you.

Comparison Has anyone compared 1025 and 2380 recently?

I think rather than a BX 2380, I would shop the slightly larger, heavier, more capable, Kubota B2601 which is more in the same price range as the Deere 1025R.

Exactly. I generally prefer being out in the weather, which is why my tractor doesn't have a cab, and I enjoy riding motorcycles. My Mule MX came with a roof but it, along with the hard doors, came off right away because it just feels better and is quieter w/o them. But where I am the temps are...

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

I went with a Tusk half shield which is perfect for me, the air goes over my head yet I'm looking over it. I was concerned that it is made of acrylic and will scratch easily but so far (for over a year) it's held up fine. And the thing was cheap so if it gets badly scratched I'll just buy...

With gasoline so high there'll probably be a lot of people looking to buy motorcycles this year. LOL as if we need more buyers in this crazy market. I decided to go retro with an air cooled in-line 4 CB1100 and found this one in January. It's a 2014 that hadn't been ridden much (2,600 miles)...

Can't connect Pioneer fitting from my EA grapple to the tractor?

JD X380 vs X570 new purchase?

Both are nice little tractors, I had an X310 with the K58 transaxle, so similar to an X380 only with a bit less power and smaller deck, but with PS and power lift. I now have an X500 (previous version of X570) which has the heavier K72 transmission with 54" deck. Easy to spend your money but...

Can't connect Pioneer fitting from my EA grapple to the tractor?

I tried that but the ball ends (male) are on the tractor side which as it turns out is not under pressure, it's the attachment. But thanks to all for your advice, I had to crack both fittings on the grapple to connect them but they're on. I've not had this occur before but knowing my luck it...

Can't connect Pioneer fitting from my EA grapple to the tractor?

I pressed the pin in on the female couplers with a dull screwdriver, which are on the tractor, and when that didn't work is when I guessed the pressure must somehow be in the grapple. Then I started wondering if me pressing the hose when trying to connect the grapple could have caused it...

Can't connect Pioneer fitting from my EA grapple to the tractor?

I've connected the grapple many times w/o a problem. Today I struggled attaching the grapple to the SSQA loader arms, one side would hook but not the other then vice versa. So I got off to see why and saw that one of the unconnected grapple hoses had moved and was in the way preventing the...

    New Pioneer 520 Arrived

It is geared low and even with the 2" larger tires first gear is still very low, no problem at all starting off in second. The tires didn't effect the steering at all as far as I could tell. IMO steering effort is largely dependent on traction with this vehicle, which is due to not having a...

Oil Viscosity--Food for Thought or Fuel for a Flame War?

Multi weight oils include viscosity improvers. Viscosity improvers were explained to me in layman terms by a chemist with Spectro Oils as 10w oil is syrupy when cold and very, very, thin at temperature. 10w-40 oil is syrupy when cold and thin at operating temperature because it has VI polymers...

    First tractor

An L2501 or the newer L2502 (or Kioti 2610, Deere 3025E or D) would be fine for your application IMO. New B2601

Yeah one think I like on my Deere is that the position control stop can be bypassed while leaving it still set. A number of other things as well, all these tractors have their plusses and minuses. IMO Kubota notching the engine sump to route the front driveshaft higher up is well worth having a...

Looking for a work capable and light recreational UTV.

Pretty fair price, I think that's the version I have; PS, cast wheels, and a roof (which I took off and don't use). In fact I removed the doors as well which make it even easier to get on and off and just more fun. BTW a Mule MX will run 44-45 mph. That one wouldn't last be on a dealer lot...
