    Tight turning with 4WD on

I use the individual brakes on my MFWD tractors regularly and have since I bought my first one. There's never been a problem doing so, so I see no reason not to continue. Of course, I don't have the front wheels engaged on hard surfaces either. SR

How to Keep Chokers From Falling Off The Winch During Transport?

I've found. a screen is good about keeping the tractor getting bashed up by a limb! I also rarely skid from the tractor seat. The screen keeps a cable from smashing up the tractor too, and it's a handy place to hang extra chokers, and clevis, even a short cant hook. They really don't...

Another wood scrounging day here today... My friend came over and we went back to my woods, and like yesterday, I brought him the wood with my tractor, and he cut it to length, My friends Husky 576 really rips! anyway, like I said, I brought him wood and he kept cutting until we had a...

It was FIREWOOD day, and my friend and me, went to the woods to "scrounge" up some firewood. I knew where I had some wood stockpiled, so we got started, with me bringing the wood to my friend and him cutting it over my wagon, I kept bringing them, and he kept cutting, it sure takes a LOT...

    how many GPM is needed

You picked those numbers, I didn't. But I can tell you, I have two tractors that the hydraulic flow is about a gallon apart and you can easily tell the difference a gallon makes in use, and I wouldn't want the lower one with a loader. SR

    how many GPM is needed

You make that sound so easy... just "simply" get a PTO pump... First off, have you priced one? They aren't cheep! Secondly, what about everything you need to use it?? That's a whole other expense like tank, hoses, valves ect....plus everything else that goes with it to make it work...

    how many GPM is needed

I'm surprised so many of you think the size of the hydraulic flow isn't a big deal. It's a big deal to me, as the higher the flow, the better everything that runs off the hydraulics works! Especially the loader, as it makes a big difference when you are doing two functions at once, like lift...

    Plows versus tillers?

Best tip for that is, don't try to get max tillage in one pass. Take gardens for example, on my own soil, I till one slower pass in the fall after everything is harvested, I then till one pass in the EARLY spring, and again one pass, more than a month later just before planting. I keep my...

Is country line stuff any good compared to land pride?

I'm sure that does happen, but I consider myself a savvy buyer, I do my homework, and I'm telling you the brands of "tools" I buy, I buy because they are better built and hold up longer. I base MY purchases on my experiences, and I'm willing to pay more to get a tool that will last longer for...

Is country line stuff any good compared to land pride?

I have no idea; I haven't looked at a Land Pride for some time now. I've had such good luck with Woods, I've been sticking with them. I think they have the best blade attachment too, much easier to deal with than the big "through bolt" I use to have to deal with! Where my friend works, they...

    Who Makes a Trouble-Free 60" Diesel Zero-Turn?

    Plows versus tillers?

LOTs of misinformation here!! I'll try to answer "some" of it. NO one states what tiller?? NO, they are NOT all created the same! Most of the tiller misinformation is because the posters own, use or have only seen light duty tillers, and they have no idea how to set up and run a tiller...

New ATV's (this case Yamaha Kodiak)

Something I don't understand about applications of below 40hp tractors

    30HP vs 26HP 60" bush hog?

    30HP vs 26HP 60" bush hog?

I've owned TWO compact tractors that would overheat when worked hard for longer periods of time, and I KNOW the radiators were clean and the tractors were maintained properly. I'm totally convinced that compact tractors just won't take a steady diet of HARD work that nearly maxes them out for...

Should I even think about 2 wheel drive

True, but it's not always true. I have properly loaded "tubeless" rears on one of my tractors with cal in them, and it's been there for more than 20 years, no problem at all. Last time I checked, it would cost me more to have it taken out and beet juice put in, than a new set of rims and...

Should I even think about 2 wheel drive

4wheel drive = all the tires/wheels are the same size. Other than that, they are FWA (front wheel assist) or now days MFWD (mechanical front wheel drive) because the fronts are driven mechanically not hydraulically. SR

Should I even think about 2 wheel drive

With an ag tractor, you are not crazy, but you better get one TWO sizes bigger than you planned to make up for the difference! Also, plan on putting weights on a 2wd tractor, where a MFWD tractor is already heavier in the front. I would NOT buy a 2wd compact tractor! SR
